I want a bold Green Party that's unafraid to stand up to those in power. That's why I've voted for @zackpolanski.bsky.social for leader

At a critical moment in British politics, we have to call out hate and build a fairer future for everyone. I think Zack can do that

Fascists came to Islington to intimidate refugees and spread hate. We said get out ✊

Proud to stand with local people and @islingtongreens.bsky.social to defend migrants and reject the far right

Sex Matters' attempt to stop trans women using the Kenwood Ladies Pond is small-minded and joyless

Sure, there's bigger battles to win for trans rights. But it's also important that edenic sanctuaries like the pond are open to all women

Hampstead Heath’s ladies’ pond has always been inclusive – long may that continue
As a charity plans to make a legal claim against the organisation running the north London swimming spot, long-time fan Olivia Petter explains why it goes against everything the ladies’ pond has come ...

900 trans+ people and allies showed up for yesterday’s mass lobby of Parliament, drawing attention to the cruel and unworkable guidance that the EHRC is pushing regarding toilets and changing rooms etc.
This beats the previous record for #LGBTQ lobbying set in the 1980s against Section 28.
History was made at the mass lobby for trans rights
An estimated 900 trans+ people and allies turned up at Westminster, making it the largest LGBTQIA+ lobby on record

"But if killing 23 civilians at an aid distribution site is not terrorism, how can we possibly be expected to accept that spray-painting a plane is?"

I should stop being surprised at how low our govt will stoop. Today though I'm more disgusted than usual 🇵🇸

Israel kills innocent Palestinians. Activists spray-paint a plane. Guess which the UK government calls terrorism | Sally Rooney
If Palestine Action becomes a proscribed group, writing these words of support could become a serious offence. It’s vital we fight this alarming attack on free speech, says writer Sally Rooney

When will Starmer learn that no matter how good his Nigel Farage impression gets, it won't save him from wipeout at the hands of Reform? Here's another idea - how about doing the work that's needed to actually make people's lives better? 🧵

Trans women are women 🏳️‍⚧️

As Labour caves in to the right's culture war yet again, I'm proud to be an @greenparty.org.uk member and to firmly stand behind our party's policy to champion trans rights 👇
In this toxic culture war, so many people are looking for hope. We want the Green Party to solidly be leading that fight.

@sciencemuseumldn.bsky.social hello, I just read you'll be continuing your relationship with BP, despite their decision to abandon climate targets

As a science-led institution, why do you support a business ignoring climate science and the existential threat posed by environmental breakdown?

I made an effort to read more last year (esp since summer) so here are the best books I read in 2024

In particular, I implore you to read Our Wives Under the Sea (mesmerising, heartbreaking, terrifying) and Couplets (why is nobody talking about this big long poem?)

Hope in the Dark is my go-to read in the aftermath of any grim political event - and currently you can go read it for free! 👇
My wonderful publishers at Haymarket Books
and I just made Hope in the Dark a free download for a week And yeah, I know I haven't been around much--three platforms is a lot, and I reach a lot of people on one and read a lot of key sources on the other. www.haymarketbooks.org/books/791-ho...
