A senior academic using mentoring as leverage to obtain sex is a contemptible abuser of power.
Summers conferred with Epstein frequently about how to extract sexual favors from a Harvard econ grad (AB '04, PhD '09)

The grad is from China

Epstein and Summers referred to her by the codename "Peril"

Shame on The New York Times, @andrewrsorkin.bsky.social and @NicholasKristof for presiding over this vile DealBook panel discussion on Dec 3 featuring @Ehud Barak, the former Israeli p.m. and "friend of Jeffrey" who raped and beat to a pulp teenaged Virginia Giuffre. (So much for "cancel culture.")

The gap between ICE’s story and Franklin Park body cam footage is alarming. A man is dead, shot and killed by federal agents—and the public deserves the truth. Just like at the Broadview detention center, we need answers, accountability, and transparency.

Why is there no Benny Hill music?
This is footage from today in MacArthur Park.

Minutes before, there were more than 20 kids playing — then, the MILITARY comes through.

The SECOND I heard about this, I went to the park to speak to the person in charge to tell them it needed to end NOW.

Absolutely outrageous.

What's going on at the New York Times? Barely any coverage of the daily carnage in Gaza; racist hit job on Mamdani; Cuomo semi-endorsement; and triumphalist Iran-has-been-vanquished b.s. Has the paper of record decided that the way to beat Trump is to move to the center-right? Gross.

I've said it many times before and Andrew Cuomo is making me say it again: we don't have a cancellation problem. We have never had a cancellation problem. To the contrary, we have a problem that "disgrace" is a very temporary embarrassment— an brief entr'acte more than an intermission.

ICE is a much greater threat to this country than illegal immigrants. The current administration ia by far the greatest threat this country faces. The problem is not st our borders. It is in the White House.

Personally as a Jew myself I think the rise in antisemitism is probably related to the country killing people with American weapons under a giant star of David in the colors of a tallit and the antisemitism might get better if they, you know, stopped doing that

Amid all the other news, it's easy to become inured to the basic facts here. Öztürk:

-Is not accused of committing any crime

-Is nonviolent

-Was in this country legally

-Merely engaged in speech that the administration objects to

-Has been locked up for six weeks
Now from Öztürk’s ACLU lawyer Esha Bhandari:

“Rümeysa Öztürk’s case is unprecedented and shocking. She has been held behind bars for six weeks while her health deteriorates for writing an op-ed.”
