This is probably the clearest indication yet that the administration understands what they’re doing in the Caribbean is illegal.

They’re now threatening the ICC with sanctions if they investigate Trump and his team.

My Canadian mind is truly boggled reading the replies.
Roger Marshall: "We want patients to become consumers again. We want patients to see what the actual prices are. We believe that if we would add the price tags to this bill, that it would save the country a trillion dollars a year."

U.S. seizes ‘very large’ oil tanker off Venezuelan coast, Trump says
The seizure was a significant escalation in the U.S. pressure campaign against Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his country’s oil-dependent economy.

the core idea that can radicalize people is so simple:

there is enough.

there is enough food to feed everyone. enough resources to house everyone. money and technology and medicine to stop the suffering of people around the globe.

once you accept that there's only one question:

why don't we?

What I always hear: “We can’t afford to pay our workers more than $15 an hour.”

What I never hear: “We can’t afford to pay our CEO millions of dollars a year.”

Funny how that works.

Crazy stat to contemplate:
In 2024 China added almost exactly 1
GW of solar and wind capacity per day (358 GW across the year) – a pace equivalent to
building a typical nuclear reactor every single day.

I've said it before — I love the internet at its best.

I see someone mention a book that sounds fascinating on Bluesky. I go to my library app, and within a minute I've borrowed the book and started reading.

My dad abhors any negative comments about immigrants. Asked him recently why he’s so strong on it: ‘Because we’re always happy to take the rich and clever ones. Which means it’s not about disliking immigrants. It’s about disliking the poor and vulnerable. And that’s a bad human instinct.’
This is so disgusting.

Can I let you in on a little secret?

Billionaire philanthropy isn’t charity.

It’s PR to distract you from low wages, labor exploitation, and a tax system that’s rigged for the rich.

This is bonkers!🤪 Utterly bonkers!
The PPE supply in the provincial stock pile should rotate into the hospital, clinics and nursing home supply chain so it gets used up.
Discarding $1.4 billion worth of supplies paid for with tax payers’ hard earned money is disgraceful.

Salute to Toronto for this pivot:

Ontario premier Doug Ford banned Toronto from building new bike infrastructure that replaces car lanes.

Toronto's response: Narrow but retain existing car lanes, freeing enough space to keep installing bike lanes. (Better yet, narrower traffic lanes are safer.)
'It's a win-win': How Toronto is planning 20km of new bike lanes without defying Ford
The City of Toronto is also planning $30-million worth of infrastructure upgrades, including bike lanes, cycle tracks, and trails.
