I always wanted more from Event Horizon. I’m a greedy little lore hound. I’ve been anxious to read this comic series but didn’t want to start til it was done. Let’s see what’s what…

As always, thanks to @lordretail.bsky.social & crew at Acme Comics. 🖤

Someone said Metal was a Batman story, Death Metal a Wonder Woman story, so DC K.O. has to be a Superman story. This series has been so unpredictable in a good way that I can't say what it is until is it. For now, its a Darkseid story! Readers who weren't into KO will absolutely want in as of 4.

A skill Kirkman had was he somehow knew exactly when Walking Dead & Invincible readers got comfortable, maybe even complacent, and he would shake things up. If you read those series you know those moments. Transformers 28 showed he still has that skill. All eyes are on 29 for action, Action, ACTION!

In Star Wars Jar Jar, Senator Binks is summoned to planet Urubai where he observes terrible conditions directly resulting from Palaptine's emergency powers. To put things right Jar Jar teams up with Jedi Kelleran Beq & I hope to see more of that. Great job @marcguggenheim.bsky.social & Ahmed Best.

Marc Spector Moon Knight is the new repackage of the same storyline that's been running through different names for years now, but it could be a jumping on point. Someone has kidnapped Marc & is putting him through a clever game to get answers they want. It might have worked too. On someone else.

In the new Wade Wilson Deadpool, something terrible has happened, unseen between series, and Deadpool is more reckless than ever. It isn't about the money, its just about the pain now.

Lots of end of day requests for Bleeding Hearts #1. Enough that I was compelled to order more before leaving for the day & every cover is back ordered. If you like @denizcamp.bsky.social, if you're curious about the new DC Vertigo, OR Vertigo was your trusted brand of choice, get on it if you can!

After 22 years as a letterer, I now only have enough regular lettering work to keep me busy for 2 days per week. So if you’re staffing a new project, please keep me in mind as your letterer! Or request me via your editor! Recent clients include DC, Marvel, BOOM, Dark Horse, 2000AD, etc.
Thank you 🙏🏻

No way!
I never noticed this either.

From my layperson retailer point of view the desperate push for AI use and the like rings of “please buy into our thing.” Those commercials show me it isn’t operating or being embraced like somebody somewhere assured somebody somewhere else that it would definitely be by now. Maybe it’s just me…

Everyone has been asking for follow up to the Absolute Evil one shot and Absolute Superman 16 has something for you. Hawkman pays a personal visit to Superman to impart some harsh lessons. Meanwhile, Brainiac interrupts a birthday party in Missouri that will have major impacts. Get back in on this!

For Damian Wayne fans, Batman 6 and DC K.O. Knightfight 4 read well together. Batman does through a test similar to what Superman experienced when he came into contact with the Black Mercy. If he can't pass it then he can't get back into the tournament or possibly anywhere else!

Another outstanding issue of Batman. Not that other series have been off in some way at all, but so far this series just feels right. Vague, but if you're reading it then you know that there's something fresh for the modern era but also entirely on brand going on. If you're not with it, catch up!

The Year One story in JSA has been outstanding. Its pretty exciting to me that new readers get to experience these classic heroes and villains in this new way and connect with them. I think this will be a go-to graphic novel.

Livewire gets some spotlight in the Superman Chains of Love Special. I can't help but hear her in Lori Petty's voice which isn't a bad thing. Plus, @danslott.bsky.social has a really fun Bizarro World story as the back up. I wonder how long he's had that character name in his pocket..

I haven't seen it many times because its just a frustrating movie. And Beneath is weird. And the third one is crazy too, especially the ending.

Its no small thing when solicitations are off or outright incorrect. There was an omnibus whose arrangement of issues I personally felt to be unreadable based on the solicitation & ordered accordingly. But then I find it isn't missing key stories after all. I'd have ordered double. Cmon publishers.

Planet of the Apes/ Fantastic Four was a lot of fun if you like both properties. Original PotA specifically. The Red Ghost sends the FF to another dimension where they have no powers. They have their wits, but that isn't to their advantage there. No creator credits on the cover though. That's weird.

The original Planet of the Apes really frustrated me as a kid the first time I saw it. If only Taylor could speak. Now I realize he probably would have been promptly eliminated if he revealed he could speak immediately. I didn't see the end coming. And I really worried about Nova the whole time...

Also, check out the credits on Thundarr! Jack Kirby, Steve Gerber, Mark Evanier, Martin Pasko, Bill Wray, Dick Sebast, Bruce Zick. Not to mention Michael Ansara, Joan Van Ark, Stacy Keach on voice actiong. The series didn't run for long at all, so I'm hoping the comic can cover a lot of untold story

The Thundarr comic is pretty much perfect. The Dynamite cartoon adaptations sometimes turn the violence up in ways that can be too much, but not here. It is appropriate for what's going on. Story is great, art is on point. I have no notes for @jason-aaron.bsky.social & team! Buy with confidence!

The Thundarr intro was serious business as was the voice over. In 1983 a comet passing between the Earth & Moon sounded plausible to 7 year old me. It was also my first exposure to the idea that all of "this" could go away. At a point the characters were in a mall and didn't know what it was. What??
