Gonna use this account to organize/post photos from some of my filming location visits over the last few years. Not sure where to start, but I'll put a list of possibilities in the first reply...

I think it's important to boost news of the general strike in Minneapolis today and it's possible to do it without the hyperbole that nobody in the media is covering it

It may not be getting the attention it deserves! Posting links to reported stories is one way to combat that!

Unfortunately, one of the biggest political dividing lines today is whether or not you believe in the importance of compassion for others.
Yeah the thing about Mr. Rogers is his show was never political.

In Office at Night (1940), Hopper traps two figures in bare electric light. A man sits at his desk while a woman moves through a cramped room. The viewer sees nothing outside the office, turning confinement into tension.

Hadn't realized today was the birthday of one of my favorite writer/directors, Jim Jarmusch. Love Down By Law, Mystery Train, Dead Man, Ghost Dog, Only Lovers Left Alive...the list goes on.

Have you seen Jarmusch's Only Lovers Left Alive, the underseen gem he's likely referring to here? SO GOOD!
“I’ve always been drawn to outsider types of characters, so what more perfect shadowy inhabitants of the margins there than vampires?” - Jim Jarmusch
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Jim!! 🎈🎈🎈

Today David Lynch would have turned 80. Happy Birthday to one of my biggest inspirations. Without Lynch, I’m not sure I would be a sound designer. Very happy with this article I wrote about his incredible sonic legacy last summer in the MPSE magazine Wavelength: digital.copcomm.com/i/1535880-su...?

Odd angle for an article marking what would've been Lynch's 80th birthday, but some nice quotes from Mary Sweeney and Sabrina Sutherland.
David Lynch would struggle to make films in social media landscape, say collaborators
Shorter attention spans would make it hard for director to tell ‘deeply connective’ stories, say colleagues on 80th birthday

The Walk for Peace stopped for the night just a few minutes from my home. So many turned out to greet the monks that we couldn't get close enough to see or hear them very well. But it was inspiring to see so much support for their message of peace, especially on MLK Day.

Thanks so much to everyone who has checked in about what it’s like in Minneapolis right now. This should answer most of your questions:
It’s worse than it looks in Minneapolis

Growing up in a highly segregated and racist town, I read a book of MLK speeches and it changed the way I saw the world. It opened my eyes and mind and made me want to be a better person.

When David Lynch passed last year, it prompted me to make some slideshows of Twin Peaks filming locations I've been fortunate enough to visit. For what it's worth, here's the thread I did of the beautiful Kiana Lodge (more info below). ⛰️⛰️
Reposting my #TwinPeaksLocations series so far in a single thread. Seven short videos providing a tour of Kiana Lodge in Poulsbo, WA, which served as the Great Northern interiors and Blue Pine Lodge interiors/exteriors in the Pilot.

A truly awful day for movies and art, losing one of the most singular and brilliant voices to ever make them.

We've unlocked our full David Lynch issue from 2017, which is now entirely free to read.

R.I.P. Mr. Lynch, and thank you forever for the work and example you left us.

If you wanted me to give a fuck about the Golden Globes, then they should have nominated Indy for Best Actor.

A pleasure to see a new film from Jim Jarmusch. A lot of Jarmusch trademarks here (anthology structure, deliberate pacing, offbeat humor, great soundtrack) as well as themes that should resonate with anyone in mid-life and dealing with aging parent issues (e.g., me).

The day Bowie died, I decided to pay tribute by learning the entire ZIGGY STARDUST album. I'm a decent guitarist, but it proved more challenging than expected. I came to respect Bowie's writing craft even more, learning any chord can follow any other as long as a strong melody connects them.
