Kemi Badenoch says her decision to ditch her climate commitments is due to her having "listened to the industry".

No mention of the millions of pounds her party has received from the funders of fossil-fuel linked lobby groups

“Let me be really clear – every minute that’s not spent talking about and dealing with the cost of living is a minute wasted of the political work of this government” is actually really good advice from the Prime Minister. If only he'd listen to himself.

This all-male panel is deciding whether South Carolina women can be charged with murder for their pregnancies — and whether birth control and pro-choice websites stay legal.

This a real thing happening today. Don't look away.

I mean, look, I'm not a reporter, so who am I to talk?

But on a day where the president both just called a woman reporter "Piggy" and is celebrating someone who had people bone saw apart one of my colleagues, I might just be a little ready to defend my colleagues and profession.

But that's just me

It’s just not possible to sweep 6 billion people under the rug. What we need is an offer of an alternate positive vision for our relationship w/ them.

I wrote about all this here, which captures much more than I could in this thread (w/ bonus dog pic!)

Trump retreats on Epstein files. Three lessons:

1. It can be easier to fracture the MAGA coalition than get "responsible" Republicans to step up.

2. Democrats should fight rather than find reasons not to fight.

3. Dems need to be anti-elitist not just anti-GOP.

The president saw defeat and ran. But that doesn’t mean the fight over releasing the files is over.

This is disgusting. It means people granted asylum will constantly be living with uncertainty, never feeling able to rebuild their lives. On a practical level, it also surely means more work and money, if claims are constantly being reassessed. A repugnant idea.

To be clear, what is being proposed here is to axe the main mechanism for getting Britain’s homes insulated - which is by FAR the best way to reduce household energy bills in the long term 🤦‍♂️

Good morning.

Last night was a referendum on Trump's corruption, cruelty, and chaos.

But it's also not a coincidence these big wins came at the exact moment when Democrats are using our power to stand for something and be strong.

A huge risk to not learn that lesson.

Ex-Democrat Cuomo is running on racism in New York. Whatever people think of the pros & cons of the Mamdani agenda for the city, Cuomo deserves to fail badly for so many reasons
So here's Andrew Cuomo reacting to Maria Bartiromo wondering if Mamdani will "change the look of New York" and have Muslim women "completely covered up," telling her that Mamdani "doesn't understand New York culture" because he has "dual citizenship" and "he's a citizen of Uganda."

Thanks to @TimHirschel-Burns for his thoughtful critique of our #TeamWater campaign with MrBeast. Many of the points he raises, both the positives and cautions, were central to our internal debates, esp amid aid cuts and a growing isolationist mindset.
