This is one of my fave topics bc my take has always been this: new art tools never aim to REPLACE old ones, but instead to only ever ADD to the tools that already exist and to be frank most genAI products have been touted as a replacement, not an addition
One of the parts I find most disingenuous about the "artists are just afraid of new technology, like how people used to be afraid of BOOKS!" A/I argument is that artists have often been early adopters of digital technology in their workflow and were subsequently called lazy cheats for it lmao

I miss when you could browse Google search for things, more like a library. Finding essays or articles without being assaulted by ads or having to got to several websites or apps and learn to navigate those make me so tired
