My latest at @comicsjournal.bsky.social: I talked to @oglaf.bsky.social! Not the character, but rather, the people who create it.

They don't do many interviews, so this was a real treat. They're funny people! Turns out they're not super private, just...really bad at PR?

Talking Oglaf with Trudy Cooper and Doug Bayne: 'We'd stay up all night drawing stuff to make each other laugh' - The Comics Journal
Other than some time off every year for Christmas, Trudy Cooper and Doug Bayne have delivered a new Oglaf comic, skewering fantasy tropes with absolutely not safe for work humor, every week since 2008...

As of this morning, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history.

Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX

Paypal: @Elikzena78 -I’ve sent $$ myself, we visited there with supplies. But it’s a long winter. The NS gov just criminalized any activity that “impedes economic activity on Crown Land” a few weeks ago. That’s L’nu land. It’s not strong economic policy, it’s the usual colonial violence. Reject it.

I went to check and sure enough, posts deemed “rude” were hidden from me (as were a whole host of other stuff, which I set to “warn” because I don’t trust filters, I want the option to hit a button and be shown the thing, always)
If you aren't seeing skeets from some of your fave people, they might have been labeled "Rude" by bsky mods. Idk what they are thinking, I don't need a mommy to tell me who to be buddies with. Anyway, go into Settings > moderation > bluesky moderation (advanced) and turn Rude off.

I’m about to go to bed, but I wanted to shout out @runforsomething.net, a great org that’s been doing the work to support young diverse progressives to win up and down the ballot and build a great bench - they help make nights like this possible. I’m a monthly donor and it’s worth every penny!

was genuinely just thinking today about how many people i know of in the media & know IRL are getting more trans & more self-accepting as we age and i think that is beautiful and cool of us

honored to announce i have been awarded this years LOUD HANDS AWARD FOR AUTISTIC STORYTELLERS from @autisticadvocacy.org. much of my confidence to trot with this unique way is due to the autistic creators who came before, and to think i could pass that on and inspire others means so much. thank you

Queer Bluesky: how old were you when you came out and how old are you now?

Came out as gay in my late teens, realized I was bi a year later.

Began coming out as NB when I was ~33 (largely to a response of: "Didn't you already tell me this?" and "I knew that"). That was approx. a decade ago, wow.
Queer Bluesky: how old were you when you came out and how old are you now?

Came out as bi around age 15 or 16.

Started coming out as nonbinary around 2017-18 when I realized it could apply to me, late 30s. Got top surgery in 2021.

I'm 41.
Queer Bluesky: how old were you when you came out and how old are you now?

Always knew I was trans. Came out at 20. Got shoved back in the closet. Came out again at 33 to transition.

Did no formal coming out for being bi, which I didn't figure out until 35 (thought I was straight).

I am 48 now.

when i answer 'what makes you a creator?' with 'you are a creator before you ever start' it makes some folks upset or make fun of chuck. that is okay it is a big philosophical swing, but i think best way to explain would be to actually look at TIME ITSELF. specifically question: what is the present?
