I wonder if exvangelicals are more likely to be optimists or pessimists, after leaving the indoctrinated life? I feel like I'm still weirdly optimistic in significant ways, despite objectively knowing better, and I wonder how much of that is lingering jesus-stuff.

I love our neighborhood and I want to build community but also I can't stay calm when someone's dog is off-leash and I end up losing it on the owner and 😑💀🔪🤡 NOT GREAT for the whole building community effort

Trying a simmer pot after admiring @sometimesalways9.bsky.social's ones, for both the objectively lovely household scent and added moisture, and for the further meaning as an intentional craft - cloves (warmth/good fortune); green apples (renewal/healing); rosemary + black peppercorns (protection).

Gustav is bored with everything I've tried to engage him today and I'm genuinely out of ideas. He's too smart to repeat a diy puzzle; he's figured out all his treat dispensing toys; we've scatter-fed in the yard and he ignores bones/chews after a bite or two. What do you waaaaaaaaant 😭😭😭😭😭

I swear I'm not trying to be That Guy because regional acclimatization is totally real and valid BUT: Boston has almost 2ft of snow on the ground and *almost no windchill* with above-zero/below-freezing temps. THIS IS AWESOME. This much snow but able to be out in it in just a hoodie and jeans? MAGIC
