I had planned on putting Bart's leash in a shadowbox kinda thing along with her collar, but I think I'm going to use it for Goober Boy too instead. I think it'll help connect us in a way that feels good and right.
I'm going to miss Bart for the rest of my life, but she's still here. She'll be here napping next to him and ambling along on our walks, and she'll be here for any and all other dogs I have down the road.
I'm looking forward to her meeting this new boy, too.

Speaking of doing more skill-share stuff - I'm going to lunch on Wednesday with a friend, at the house of *their* friend, who has need of dog training advice/info but can't afford a professional, so I'm going to see what I can contribute to help out and I'm so happy about getting to do that!!

I never put any stock in art therapy(tm) working for me personally but I've been trying to do more paintings that help express feelings since alexithymia is a bastard, and guess! who VERY unexpectedly just made themself cry finishing a piece abt what it felt like to walk Bart!

#LRP I said "Holy shit" irl about that - southern IL is where my dad's side of the family is from, transplants several generations back from the 'true' south, as are many in the area. And yeah, my family down there and many other transplants lean *heavily* conservative, so this is heartening to see.
