We urgently need to deincentivize animal&pet accounts who go to every and all great lengths to “save” the animals&pets. They go too far, and people are no longer doing reasonable care; they’re “saving” broken down rescues who deserve peace and prolonging the life of sick, old pets who deserve rest.

But it’s also as much a matter of colleges starting to *guarantee jobs* from degrees, as a way to sell attending to people. It’s no longer learn broad skills and do a job — it’s learn only A and funnel into A career.

This is tangential but relates: I always lol at who becomes an actor in England (at least of a certain tradition), and Americans are amazed they’re all Eton Lads cosplaying as norms (bc acting isn’t get your hands dirty work, it’s art & they have the familial wealth to fuck off doing it).

Yeah. We’re just too “I got / I keep mine.” Our ideas of common good is ‘so like church?’ — in which jerks pour millions! that usually does very little! But the truth of how much more dynamic and full of options (even for the land rover class) society becomes is undeniable.

I’m experimenting: if instacart gets me even the smallest goal ($30/month) & so far we have a total bust. I think combo 1) small town, hardly anyone even uses it as a customer and 2) there’s like two established “instacart guys” who camp out on the app & claim everything immediately. lol ah well
