Trigger warning: Look away if you are trying to buy a house. Labor’s 5% deposit is turbocharging the 🏠 crisis: ‘The median house price across the combined capital cities is expected to rise by $102,500 to $1.3 million’. www.afr.com/property/res...
Sydney median house price to hit $1.9m, records for all cities in 2026
All capital cities are expected to reach record median values next year, with the first home buyer scheme a key factor pushing prices higher.

As we wrap up another Trans Awareness Week filled with celebration and pride, let’s take a moment to observe a more solemn occasion - Trans Day of Remembrance. Today we honour & remember those who have tragically lost their lives to transphobic violence, discrimination and hate.

This graph of global solar cell installation shows how the world has already left the Liberal Party behind in the coal dust. The future is renewable, it’s ubiquitous and far cheaper than fossil fuels. If only the sun could donate!

Australia needs to get back to giving loans to owner occupiers rather than property investors. If the Government won’t, APRA should. Reigning in investor lending would be celebrated by renters & aspiring homeowners who feel the repeat bout of runaway housing price inflation.

The Greens are calling on APRA to step in & stop the skyrocketing property investor lending that is fueling the housing crisis. New ABS data shows investor lending has jumped by 12.3% while first-home buyer loans have risen by just 0.9%. Who's buying all the houses? Investors. 🧵

Penny Wong accidentally saying the quiet bit out loud - for Labor the US relationship is more important than the Australian environment. Who do this lot think they work for?

It's very clear that the Albanese Labor Government is obsessed with secrecy and restricting transparency as much as possible - from trying to hack the FOI laws to a NACC with no public hearings it's a deeply disturbing trend captured by the Centre for Public Integrity in their latest report.

I heard a whisper coming from this Queen butterfly (Danaus gilippus) while taking its picture. In the softest voice it said "To everyone who sees this post: have a wonderful week."

Huge rally for Free Palestine today - I think the biggest ever. South Australian’s want a just, lasting peace, Palestinian statehood and self-determination, hostages free, pursuit of war criminals and an end to any Australian public investment in armaments.
