I am really enjoying having the Eastern Bluebirds here for the winter. They seem to be very social and full of personality. It's a shame they are not here year-round.

Cold but getting through it, I think this Bluejay actually enjoys the cold. She's been getting all the peanuts and mealworms she wants, often visiting for a quick bite every half hour or so.

Our first ice storm has arrived for 2026. This poofy White-winged dove is trying to keep warm as more sleet falls. I've moved all the feeders under the patio and full to help them get through it.

I haven't seen this cutie since last winter. The Yellow-rumped Warbler has been another satisfied customer at the suet log, bringing it's friends several times a day.

One of the main reasons for making this suet log feeder was to attract more woodpeckers. This Downy Woodpecker didn't take long to show up, and he's been hungry!

I made homemade suet and a suet log feeder. If anyone is interested I may post a video of how I made it. This female Eastern Bluebird is one of many that has made frequent visits.

Although beautiful, I know what this Cooper's Hawk is here for. The amazing part was 4 or 5 Bluejays flew into action and sounded the alarm as loudly as they could. They bravely chased after it out of sight.
