A year ago today, I went to London Colney, met Win, and stole a rock - called Rocky, of course - from the Arsenal training ground. (Sorry, Arsenal!) Still one of the best days of my life. 🔴⚪️❤️
I used a lot of this speech in the introduction for my master's dissertation about refugees and asylum seekers (partly titled 'Wretched Strangers'), and I've sadly been thinking about it a lot recently. Brilliantly performed by Sir Ian McKellen! 👏🏻

Wish I had a cool story. Grew up in the US before football was big there. Visited my brother (Liverpool fan) in London 10yrs ago. He lived near Emirates & I needed something to do 1 night so walked there. "Guess I'm an Arsenal fan now." Took a few years & a friend to really watch though. Slow burn.

reasonable solutions to man city's silly request

- guehi plays, but they have to play with 10 players from kickoff
- guehi plays, but arsenal gets to pick a player man city have to drop (erling)
- guehi plays, but all of man city wears clown makeup & costume & shoes while wearing number "115"

Just thinking about this gives me chills (see also the reply where you add that Per, his old Vice Captain, came back to work with the academy and has been a key part of Mikel’s success).

Mark my words, someone will adapt this to a screenplay if we end up doing what we can this season.
It’s literally like a plot of a movie. A player who joined us in the wake of 8-2 at OT, who took a pay cut to join us, who left the club when he still wanted to keep playing, but his body wouldn’t let him, makes the brave decision to leave and learn as a coach, then comes back to rebuild the club.

The fact that the media narrative is all about how boring we are or how anti-football we are or some other shit, instead of this, is telling. Any other club, the story would be this, it’s the kind of shit books will be written about because it’s a goddamn fairytale story.
“That a former club captain with no managerial experience has led the club from the (relative) doldrums and looks on course to deliver a first league title in 22 years.”

There’s a really great story happening here if we can just slow down and appreciate it (obviously easier said than done)
This week's column is about learning to enjoy and relish the anxiety of the title race 👇🔴⚪️

We’re calling for World Cup matches to be moved outside of Trump’s US.

Thank you Pep Guardiola for using your platform.

Governments killing, displacing and dehumanising millions across the world want to make us think it's normal.

But Guardiola is right.

We can't look away. And we cannot accept it.

Arsenal are the first team in Europe's top-five leagues to reach 20 clean sheets in all competitions this season. That's 20 clean sheets in 38 games. Absurdly good side out of possession. #afc

LOL, how did I missed this clip.
This is just brilliant, can't remember the squad and staff enjoying a goal more than this one in the past 2 seasons.
They enjoyed it even more than fans 😂
And Calafiori 🤣🤣🤣

I KNEW it would be Kai Lukas Havertz to score the winning goal! He loves scoring against his old team, and we love him for it, especially with the badge tap! 🥹

Okay, but I swear if it goes to penalties, I'm going to need Raya in goal. I just pray it doesn't get to that point. Vamos!

Infantino, of FIFA Peace Prize fame to non-football people and who wants to be besties with Trump, helping out Trump's bestie
Infantino claims Russia’s global football ban has achieved nothing and should be reversed. But it has, hasn’t it? It is only nation banned from the world’s most-popular sport and that has to sting, it’s a very visible consequence of what’s happened. Reminder fifa largely forced into this ban
