Arsenal fan. Philosophy professor. Sometimes the two things intersect. But mostly these are my unfiltered thoughts about Arsenal that I wouldn’t put my actual name to.

No wonder we took so long trying and failing to get Sesko to sign. We kept offering him a pen, he kept refusing to take it.
7 one-goal Premier League wins in a row.
It’s mad. 10 wins in 11 games. 8 of those wins by a single goal. No goals scored in first four games of season. He’s so weird.

Chelsea have zero chill. No attempt to play in the final few minutes there. More desire to be petulant. Can’t help but see that as a reflection of their manager.

Did Caicedo just kick the ball away in injury time whilst 1 goal down at home?

How are Chelsea struggling so much when they have the best players in the league in Palmer, James, Caicedo, Enzo and Estevao?

Chelsea are just a team of idiots.

Remember the Watkins/Gyokeres discussions.

Unbelievable. Genuinely. Unai’s thrown 60 heads in a row.

Gyokeres needs to cut the sulking. He’s got a place to fight for.

Unai, the madman
Villa xG for this game is 0.04 to Chelsea's 2.00

David Raya is so much better than he gets credit for. The qualities of both an intensely hardworking, faultless player and a clutch player, rolled into one.

One reason signing Madueke made sense is that he absolutely eats up the space when we’re 1 or 2 up and the opposition has to attack. But we persist with hammering Saka’s hamstrings when he looks like he doesn’t want to sprint.

Remember when Michael Oliver sent off Myles for a trip on the edge of the opponent’s area?

If that’s a defender who takes out a forward while the keeper’s nowhere near the goal, isn’t it a red? Surely a striker having an open goal even from an angle is a clear goal scoring opportunity?

It would be an embarrassment for the league if City were to win it this season.

There we go. Both fullbacks suddenly lost to injury/illness. 🙃
PL graphic has just flashed up here saying Lewis-Skelly is starting
Riccardo Calafiori went down the tunnel three or so minutes ago, no sign of him returning yet. There could of course be a very innocent explanation for his early departure from the warm up but he had been chatting to Simon Murphy before.

Those 3 points could make all the difference for City come the end of season relegation battle.

The mental gymnastics of folk trying to work out the positions of Zubimendi/Rice/Merino while accepting Calafiori will play CB, LB, CM, LW, CF throughout the game.
