it's really important also to internalize that while you mean "that's normal" to be reassuring, for a child who's suicidally depressed, or clinically anxious, or hallucinating and paranoid, etc. it can instead suggest that everybody feels awful all the time and there's no escape or help

Yesterday, five-year-old Liam and his dad Adrian were released from Dilley detention center. I picked them up last night and escorted them back to Minnesota this morning.

Nazis don't become Nazis the second they commit the ultimate crimes. They were Nazis as soon as they aspired to those crimes. It's really obvious when you understand Naziism academically, rather than falling back on the vague cultural sense that it's a slur (which is what Nazis want you to think)
it is still a little weird how, even if you were comfortable calling MAGA fascists and nazis before, it was sort of a... if not a stretch, at least a bit of an extension. Now it's just, no, they are those things in very direct and clear ways.
