I wanted to try lampysprites 'uv peel' but my PC has not been happy since the (forced) W1nd0ws updat3. It refuses to uninstall and let me roll back to a usable version. Multiple people are dealing with issues since the update, not just me.
I've JUST gotten certain programs to work though.😢

It always sucks to disenchant young comic creators by telling them there's no money in comics. Usually the most common question I get is 'how do I get rich doing comics' and the answer is 'you don't' because a lot of folks still think well known=rich

If you're considering signing a graphic novel contract,
look at the advance the publisher is offering and subtract 15% for your agent (if you have one) and then 30% for taxes,
and then divide by the 5-7 years it might take you to finish the book,
and then decide if the money is worth it.

Don't be afraid to get a little spicy with your art if you've always lowkey wanted to but have been holding back. Everything is upside down and on fire. Might as well say "fuck it, yolo" and start exploring your passions while you still can. The way the world is going its also an act of defiance.

I’m usually so bad at taking my own advice, but I’m gonna hang onto this one because I still feel this way. Art by itself won’t save us by itself, but community can. And I think it will.
Not to be unkind, but I am so impatient about the “what’s the point of making my little zines/comics/crafts/art when the world is on fire” sentiments. I get it, but saving the world is not a responsibility shouldered by your art! That’s what being a neighbor, a friend, and hell, a citizen is for!!!

Apparently the AI bros are on another round of "Hatsune Miku is AI, checkmate luddites" so this is just a reminder that the singer behind Miku was paid and still earns royalties, and beyond that, Miku is nothing more than a MIDI soundboard with advanced pitch converter options, it is not genAI.
