This is a whole thing right now.

Lots of people with power and privilege using the oppressed as a shield to justify their inaction—when the oppressed are actually already very much in the fight and need solidarity and support to strengthen their actions.
One thing that strikes me here is that it has indeed been “lower-level” regular folks who have the most willingness to stand up to ICE

We can debate who *should* bear the burden of opposition. Or we can look at who is already doing so right now, and ask how to support and protect them.
The general theme of this commentary is "stop asking MN companies to ban ICE from their properties." The argument is that enforcing the ban would fall to individual low-paid employees, who would be placed in danger.

I arrived into the BL 3 days after the cyber attack to see some precious material I'd ordered weeks in advance & cried all over the librarian who offered tea & sympathy & later emailed me photos they had taken on their own phone of any of 'my' material they manually retrieved. Support the strike!

British Library staff asked for a decent pay. Instead they got ‘a few money-saving present ideas’, such as ‘consider not giving presents this holiday season’. They are on strike this week. I wrote about it for @lrb.co.uk. www.lrb.co.uk/blog/2025/de...

The arts space The Complex in Dublin is under imminent threat of closure. Right by city markets which are due for development, it’s a fantastically programmed and managed space of possibilities in a part of the north city - west of Capel street - that really needs it - petition details below
The tenants of "The Complex" the brilliant arts space just off Capel St Stop are being evicted in January and the city can't afford to lose yet *another* cultural space.

Please sign & share the petition to save The Complex

The International Criminal Court is ditching Microsoft Office, saying it’s too dependent on US tech, in favor of Open Desk, a German open source alternative.

The move comes after Microsoft revoked ICC head Karim Khan’s email access when he was sanctioned by the US for the warrant against Netanyahu.

Naoise Dolan: We need to create an Ireland where everyone can become fluent in Irish
On a grassroots level, it could not be clearer: Irish people want to learn Irish. An island-wide Údarás na Gaeltachta study found last year that 74pc wish to improve their level.

There's been a great deal of debate about how safe Dublin city centre is, but when we @dublininquirer.com looked for data to resolve this, we couldn't find much useful – so we commissioned a survey to try to add some facts/data to the debate. Today we've published five articles about the results. 1/
