This was me, a little over a year ago, dressed in suffragette white, wearing a sandwich board stating: I CANNOT VOTE TODAY ASK ME WHY. As a registered unaffiliated (independent) voter, I'm barred from voting in DC's taxpayer-funded primary elections. 73% of voters here want to change that. 1/2
I want to go back to Paris. The first (and only) time I visited was for the 2024 Olympics. Hubby and I are watching #EmilyinParis and it's putting both of us in the mood for a return trip. 🇫🇷

This is true and I was the only one on set excited about it (and playing the song on my phone to blank stares)
Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

The Jim Crow laws, Nuremberg laws, & Apartheid were all voted into law by their respective legislatures.
The Bulwark is not your friend.
She helped pass a bill—which is 100% part of liberalism. Maybe you don’t like the bill. Maybe the bill will hurt some people and have bad outcomes. But that’s part of liberal democracy.

Why should I (or anyone) have to explain and/or defend my choice to wear a mask? 🤨

As a self-confessed history nerd who's highly interested in Black women voting, when I learned about #Vanguard (in 2021), I just *had* to get it. I did that and promptly misplaced it. Twice. 🫢 Look what I found!! Can't wait to see @marthasjones.bsky.social for an autograph. 🥰 #womensupportingwomen

Yes! The 🎄is still up. It will remain up until, at the earliest, the Epiphany (Tuesday, January 6). Any questions? Merry Christmas. 🥰 #12daysofChristmas

But the big thing I think people do not realize when talking about strikes - especially in France. Is France is the size of Texas. You can get a lot of people to Paris in relatively short notice. Most of the US is pretty far from DC.

Why is White capitalized? 🤔
Another part of this, I think, is that the idea of Black people hating White people not only allows the dismissal of their critique but is actually comforting, because it still keeps White people at the center of Black peoples' lives. Opposite of love isn't hate, it's indifference.
