Education bridges the gap between the disadvantages of the past and the opportunities of the future. 33 years an English teacher. Now work for a Diocese Education Office.
Also gigs, gardens, school governance, gyms #edugym and Jack Russells.
A quick request: does anyone have a good infographic or explainer for ‘when will we next be (Ofsted) inspected?’ ie either as a monitoring visit or under the new framework - given that we are going to have a multi-layer system for a while… thanks

@evidencebased.education hi all - I remember Stuart writing about teacher burnout and (?) well-being a few years ago… is this something you still work on/speak about/investigate?

This is nice. It’s easy to be cynical, but I think it would be nice to have something like this for teachers at key ‘anniversary’ points.

Can anyone recommend books that would be good to accompany a KS2 gardening club… for rainy days and to end weekly sessions with? Thanks

“relentless pace isn’t a badge of honour”: could this be a move towards sabbaticals?

There's clearly material here to use in class about 'standards', the role of English (or any language, for that matter) as a means of uniting and integrating people, the value of qualifications, and even a world Englishes dimension, but to see education framed in this way is just depressing.

This is a colossal piece of bad, meaningless political & economic theatre. Like a bunch of desperate, grasping relatives ingratiating themselves with a cognitively impaired & splenetic geriatric patriarch who’s actually forgotten all their names. #TrumpTariffs

Last Friday, I joined the panel for a headteacher interview in a primary school. Appointing a headteacher is one of the most significant responsibilities a governing board or trustee can undertake.

🤔 When you’ve been involved in headteacher recruitment, what guided your decision making?
