Elon's been a super massive stupid hole for forever and sooo many thought that they could live in space station orbiting him.

Every fact that passes nearby that hole gets sucked in gets crushed by intergalactic cosmic forces into an infinity of stupid.

Watch more Disney canon.

Tear gassing kids, shooting parents, lasering balloons.

CBP staff couldn't work a job policing Chuckie E. Cheese without turning it into Ruby Ridge.

Fucking fire them all already.
According to multiple NYT sources, it wasn’t even military personnel at Fort Bliss that fired an anti-drone laser at alleged cartel drones. It was CBP who used the weapon on loan from DoD against a child’s party balloon they mistook for a drone. The Pentagon gave CBP an anti-aircraft weapon.

One of the most excellent and timely critical pieces I've read.

Can't underestimate the level of ignorance rampant inside the pop ent field, namely because the majority come in it as fans who never ever critically reflect on why they react the way they do in feelings or choices.

Lived by these great rules for a long time.
I have three heretical thoughts about books:

- Time spent browsing in bookshops is mostly wasted
- Books make for terrible gifts. Don't give books.
- There are vastly more interesting things to put on living-room shelves than books

Come at me! Add to the list!

A 🧵 for book-lovers

This 💯.

If you weren't working on this premise before, and many people were, there is less than zero excuse now.
The grimness of US history should encourage us. Yes, people used to send lynching postcards. And other people saw that, worked towards building a more just society anyway, and succeeded beyond anyone's wildest imagination. There's more work to be done. What's our excuse for choosing despair instead?
I understand and appreciate the fact that for some it is genuinely uncomfortable and distracting to think about how grim US history is. yes, that is strategically relevant, and no, I wouldn't put "did you know people used to send lynching photos to each other as postcards?" on a recruitment flyer

Soooo many American politicians (& staff) were on absolute cruise control regarding Atlantic ties forged in blood before they stopped shitting in diapers they really have no idea how to run the demolition derby/neighborhood bar fight Trump is insisting on starting.
i feel like Americans don't get the level of eye-rolling this is getting from Europe
January 19, 2026 at 5:30 PM
This was always the strategy that was/is gonna work on Trump's Calvinball.
The way to end all this is for the EU to immediately get hyper-aggressive with sanctioning and tariffing every American they can find.

The man has worse approvals than at any point in his prior term plus it’s an election year. It’s all a bluff. Call it!

This is one of those doors that opening on blue states threatens to create a boomerang right back to a Democratic government squeezing poorer red states with far more economic power and leverage.

Great to see this.

Argued privately for years now that best way to attack $$$ donors perverting reps in the house is to drive the number of constituents back towards 30k that a rep can rep.
#FridayReads: @elienyc.bsky.social brings humor to his legal explainers, like how mandatory minimums would apply to Batman characters. A key solution the book proposes for bad laws is expanding Congress, as the 760k people the average USA rep represents is the worst ratio among all wealthy nations.

If we turn the W upside down in WPP (Witness Protection Program) is that how we get the MPP (Murderer Protection Program)?

Seem to remember we liked arresting people for community safety and then holding them until they either got bonded out or we charged them.
We have cleaned up the crime scene and blocked a local investigation and hidden the perpetrator and invaded the state and that is how you know that we are acting in good faith and that everything was the victim’s fault.

Found the GOPs fraud inside the house.

Also, why does this read like a crossover episode between WWE/Queer As Folk/700 Club?
Ex-Mississippi welfare chief John Davis confessed to WWE wrestlers Ted DiBiase Jr. and Brett DiBiase that he "tried to buy your love" as he sent millions in Temporary Assistance for Needy Families funds to The Million Dollar Man's sons.

While denying 99% of poor families who applied.

Yep. The idea that we are going to vote to appropriate military budget dollars while the President is openly aggressing against a treaty ally (in defiance of a Senate ratified treaty which is binding US law upon the president, not only international) -- we deserve nothing but scorn if it happens.
This is something Dems should legit shut down the government over. If he wants to destroy NATO, he can do it with zero dollars and zero cents in government funding.
