It's been a long, winding journey, cutting a path through uncharted territory.
💯 co-signed.

Credible adherence to these five key planks should be a requirement for any Democrat Federal office seeker (or Independent wanting to be taken seriously) and made part of the next platform.
Not that anyone has any free brain space to focus on the future of the Republic this morning. But I put together this short piece on how to figure out which Senators should be purged from Congress. talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/the-s...

One of the interesting economic trends to watch is to what extent Chinese brand retail is globalizing and pushing into the US market. Most noticeably this is now visible in ent products, but there's little stopping them from experimenting across other market verticals.

@garymarcus.bsky.social chronicling death of vibe coding.

Heard an exec say, "had cGPT write some python". Muted mic before I lol'd.

Coded outside the distribution always. If AI is increasing your productivity, seriously, rethink how you move.

Slophouse cinema era is upon us.
David and Larry Ellisons’ sloptastic vision for Hollywood is coming into focus:

“Paramount has reportedly signed a $200M+ multiyear deal for Higgsfield AI to use mass-use Popcorn AI model that ingests dailies and script notes, then outputs regional cuts: new leads, alternate jokes, revised endings”

Love the dedication of street artists doing bolt ons.
Just in time for the No Kings protest…

“Putin’s Glory Hole” sculptures are popping up all over DC, courtesy of a mystery artist. They’re bolted down, so good luck taking them down.

Support the arts.

Tokenized ponzi songs.

I'm all for fractional ownership of songs that can result in real revenues based on performance, but this is just another form of gambling.

My entire professional life is around 98% center-left & left business people around the country and not once has the word antifa passed their lips.

By "increasingly" I feel like we're talking it went from one person in a town to two.

It's a non-issue outside the media gossip.
"increasingly being owned/embraced by decidedly non-radical (center-left) people"

This is what I said would be a bad idea. Now go yell at each other about it instead of me :)
Sure, I'll bite...

The term "antifa" is increasingly being owned/embraced by decidedly non-radical (center-left) people who choose to take its nominal "anti-fascist" meaning at face value, often leveraging a WW2 historical perspective...

By way of example:

Worst thing you can do to media people is ignore them.
I don’t think it’s good that we have an entire class of media elites who believe that people getting mad at them means they’re doing a good job, but identifying that makes me wonder if it’s actually better to not get mad at them and deprive them of what they want.

This admin has utterly eviscerated the federal authorities implied right to deference.

Short of future allowance of direct civil and criminal penalties, I don't know how they recover trust.
“I spent three nights and three days in federal custody. During that time, I was never told what I was charged with, was not allowed to shower despite being covered in tear gas and pepper spray, had no phone call to my family, and no access to an attorney.” - George Retes, U.S. citizen and veteran.
I’m a US citizen and a veteran. ICE arrested me for no reason.
Jailed for three days without an explanation or ability to notify anyone, George Retes argues the only path to healing starts with the government taking accountability for its actions.

Illuminating comparison between Klein's unmoored, fear-driven response to the current moment, and Coates' really ironclad foundation for why one holds the line even in the face of uncomfortable momentary odds.
Revealing is the right word
This was revealing. Worth reading. The basic demand is that Coates spend less time thinking/writing his true feelings and more time playing political strategist. Klein asks him over and over him to do Dem strategy; he says no, over and over. www.nytimes.com/2025/09/28/o...

Who exactly does Matty think is gonna be left in that coalition?

I don't dislike either of them as human beings, but seriously, as political leaders... 🤦
“.. when people ask me about the possibility of .. Mark Cuban or Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson leading the party in 2028, I don’t dismiss it. .. willingness to disrupt the existing coalition is very much needed.”

Being not unfamiliar with Portland over the decades, I find it amusing that the online right thinks they're going to "tame" the whitest major metro in the country.

Not to mention a metro that has a lasting sense of they do shit their way.

Co-signed and a requirement for any Dem or Indie to pass muster.
For 26 but especially 2028 it's time for Democrats to make clear that the current Supreme Court will have to be reformed (expanded in number, reformed in structure) to allow popular govt to continue in the United States. Not so much a litmus test as precondition for any other promise to be credible.

We're at the suggested mandate of "n queries per day" phase of the Enterprise/CGPT integration.

That should tell @edzitron.com how well the actual integration is going.

Gotta love the naively earnest OpenAI staffers who lead the "education" meetings about how to use the product, though.
