It appears that it's going to be a slow news week for creator resources in the #audiodrama and #fictionpodcast sphere. Do you have a terrific strategy, tip, trick, or behind-the-scenes item to which I can link? Send it to me, gorgeous!

To put this in scale, Elon Musk's salary from Tesla alone could fund the SNAP program for the entire country into 2034.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk scored a resounding victory on Thursday as shareholders approved a pay package of as much as $878 billion over the next decade, endorsing his vision of morphing the EV maker into an AI and robotics juggernaut.

No wonder so many AI developers have been begging podcasters to use their transcription tools. Transcription makes good sense, for humans. For an LLM that can’t tell the difference between an audio script and a screenplay, it’s manna.
"the camera, if there were one"

IT'S AN AUDIO GAME

"The wind knocks the chimes again. The screen hums. The cursor waits, politely patient.

MUSIC: The Zombies, Run! theme returns, minor key first, then resolves, swelling to full as we fade to black."

Sir, this is an audio drama.
what are the problems with this, for an AUDIO GAME:

[The camera, if there were one, would pan across a silhouette: a skeletal radio mast half-swallowed by ivy. Inside the shed: a jury-rigged array of transducers, a car battery, a cracked laptop with a glowing cursor. On the screen, a log scrolls.]

There is no insurrection in Portland unless you consider an uptick of people wearing inflatable frog costumes an insurrection.

No one is falling for this absurd propaganda, and there is NO justification for deploying our troops against peaceful American citizens.
WELKER: Are you looking at invoking the Insurrection Act?

VANCE: We have to remember we are talking about this bc crime has gotten out of control

W: Crime is down in both Chicago & Portland

V: Crime is down bc they are so overwhelmed at the local level they are not even keeping stats properly

Open letter to the creators of the Star Trek Khan audio drama.

Guys, I can draw, and I'm pretty okay at digital art when I want to be. Instead of using AI for the cover, throw me my own bodyweight in Haribo, and I'll do it for you.

@leylinehighrewind.bsky.social I think I remember an episode where there were underground canals, so they had to paddle their way through a subterranean labyrinth, and Dr. Gosford had to explain why the hypertonic particles in the solid gold mask of Agamemnon were important. What was that about?

I think we all need to constantly split hairs as much as possible to deflate the magical thinking our decision-maker class has adopted around AI. I basically have to do this all day at work. If you’re using “AI” as a shorthand for “a magic wizard” around me I will quibble until you understand that

I’m so glad someone is finally podcasting about this classic TV show. I binge watched it (on VHS!) while recovering from hav my wisdom teeth out, and until this podcast launched, I thought I dreamt it. It’s like if Dark Shadows met Saved By The Bell and had a baby, who’s British.
Happy Launch Day, Leyliners! The first 3 episodes of Leyline High Rewind are available NOW at leylinehigh.com, Apple Podcasts, Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts!

Have a listen! And let us know which episode of Leyline High terrified you as a kid. 👻
