ever since I learned about three-cueing I've developed infinitely more patience for replies on social media. mfers literally do not know how to read. people are walking around conjuring random meanings into words they don't know, and they don't know a lot of words. it's crazy

When everything is lost--I mean OFFICIALLY, truly lost in every conceivable way--when everything is chaos and there are no instructions or procedures to cover the situation you are in, you look at the person next to you and you do the next right thing, and then the next right thing after that.

Oh! You might already know this, but at least on bluesky, you can change a setting so that it will prompt you to add alt text whenever you have an image, under settings --> accessibility --> 'require alt text before posting'

So when it comes to "grow community locally" stuff, here's something non-Disabled folks especially have to figure out how to counter.
There is a long-standing pattern where chronically ill people, even those who previously had extensive support networks and community, are abandoned and isolated.

My brain does a tiny record scratch every single time I hear talk about needing to community build/meet 'in person', and there's zero mention of masking/air ventilation - esp! Within or directed at chronically ill/disabled folks
