A man & a dog. Come for pictures of Wilbur 🐶, stay for #Pittsburgh Sports, #mufc musings and general randomness. Ex-weatherdude. Completely preposterous, but absolutely human.

Native of Manchester, now in the Democratic People's Republic of Bromsgrove.

BBC's Arabic radio service in Lebanon closed after 85 years as part of a £28.5m savings drive. 'Just months later, in October 2023, the Russian state-owned Sputnik news agency took over the frequency. Its news bulletin opened with “This is Moscow”, replacing the previous “This is London” intro.' 🙄

Not only would I be comfortable with that person teaching my children I'd be deeply uncomfortable with my children being taught by any person who thought that standing up against this type of vicious nastiness was wrong

It's unchartered, but we can see the terrain: the territory ahead includes masked secret police taking people to concentration camps but not new vaccines. That's our reward for a system in which fewer than 20 people, all of them deranged and malicious, control over $3 trillion.
The pace at which US wealth concentration is rising is simply staggering

The concentration of AI wealth into the hands of a few tech barons + plutocratic capture ==> unchartered territory

Once again I am drawn to the legs and, err, wagons of speed skaters

(I type this as someone who’s own legs are way too muscular themselves)

Not sure who decided that Arsenal-Wigan was the big glamour tie of the 4th round and worthy of the 4:30 Sunday slot, but under twenty minutes in and Arsenal 2-0 up and I’m back on the Olympics

Having been driving around the Solihull area this morning I'd like to calmly ask IS THERE NOT A SINGLE F*CKING ROAD IN THE ENTIRE WEST MIDLANDS THAT ISN'T EITHER CLOSED OR HAVE TEMPORARY TRAFFIC LIGHTS ON IT?

It shouldn't take me 45 minutes to get from Wythall to Bromsgrove, but I had 4 diversions.

@brewin.bsky.social thanks for the great article on Macc in the paper yesterday. As a Poyntonian who split his spare time as a teenager between Edgeley Park, the Moss Rose and Old Trafford on Fridays and Saturdays it took me back to those days in the late eighties and nineties. Great stuff 👍

What's so amazing about Jim Henson as a puppeteer is that he could literally be explaining that Kermit is made out of felt and ping pong balls and yet Kermit still feels alive the whole time he's doing it

How wonderful is this 🙂
Everyone in the world comes to get married at the NYC Marriage Bureau. Last week, the Mayor stopped by to officiate a few of those ceremonies.

Thank you to all the couples who shared their joy with us. Happy Valentine's Day, New York.
