Just so you’re aware, every library in LA is offering free masks right now due to the fires. Another reason to love libraries! Let’s hope they continue after the fires are over. Masks save lives in many ways.

By consciously choosing not to have books that may be considered contentious or inappropriate in their collections, libraries are removing patrons right to choose to read the book or not. 📚📜

If school librarians are given the chance, we teach this too. Unfortunately, we're not always given that opportunity.
While we’re banning books…

Finland is teaching children in school how to recognize fake news and propaganda as part of critical thinking and civic responsibility. Some of this will seem very familiar.
