Their argument is: rich white people are allowed to do whatever they want, and that includes pedo islands or rounding up the rest in camps.

There is no contradiction, no hypocrisy, no argument that will sway them. The ideology is: power is moral

can't help but think there is probably a corrosive effect of having sex trafficker-elite emails unveiled for months on end as one of the biggest cultural/news stories of the last year— unearthing an inexcusable moral rot in the upper echelons of power—but without any real accountability/justice

@jwoolington.bsky.social on the sage grouse beat! 👏👏👏
Our February issue travels from Black Portland’s musical history to sage grouse on the steppe, Colorado’s roaming wolves, LandBack victories, rising insurance costs, the giant kangaroo rat and a new film honoring photographer Frank Matsura.

The main business model of Silicon Valley from Uber to AirBnB to Spotify is: skim profit off others' goods and labor. Often in ways that are exploitative of individuals or destructive of larger forces (as with Amazon and the retail that kept people heading out in public).

Apparently Latino agents murdered Alex Pretti. It’s not a shock. Many Latinos support Trump and MAGA (I say this as a Vietnamese American whose community has many such supporters).
BREAKING: The two federal immigration agents who fired on Minneapolis protester Alex Pretti are identified in government records as Border Patrol agent Jesus Ochoa and Customs and Border Protection officer Raymundo Gutierrez.

Liam is now home. With his hat and his backpack.

I don't believe in destiny. I don't believe hard work is rewarded. We don't live in a meritocracy. But I believe in inevitability as the result of a series of variables of which one has no control. Being pulled over by ICE is example of chilling inevitability.
What It Feels Like Getting Stopped by ICE
My work for Texas Monthly demands hundreds of hours on the road each year. Being pulled over by immigration enforcement officers has felt like an inevitability for months.

i am so proud of @coyotemedia.org for being a place that can run stuff like this without pulling punches

and i also feel it should be known that @soleilho.com wrote this powerful piece in like two hours *with the flu*
"Minnesotans are doing all they can, but they can’t keep fighting alone," writes @soleilho.com. "It’s time for a nationwide general strike: a coordinated withdrawal of labor across industries and regions until ICE is abolished."

The murder of Alex Pretti got me reflecting back on my experiences with border patrol while living in San Diego for many years. Driving up to L.A. meant going through a bp checkpoint towards the north side of Camp Pendleton on the 5. You never knew of they would pull you over or not.
