The U.S. Coast Guard "new workplace harassment policy ... downgrades the definition of swastikas and nooses from overt hate symbols to 'potentially divisive' despite an uproar over the new language that forced the service’s top officer to declare that both would remain prohibited."

Every federal prosecutor with whom I worked took immense pride in introducing him or herself as being in court “on behalf of the United States.” Their client is not the president; their duty is not to the White House. They work for the people, and we should demand that they do so impartially.

The idea of framing this vainglorious billionaire lot as modern day versions of the gritty, hard-bitten, working class, manual laborers who, for a pittance of wages, risked their lives and used their hands to make real the skyscraper dreams of the wealthy and middle classes is….lunacy.
I guess it's fitting that it's a reimagined, worse version of someone else's artwork

This should be the biggest story in the country right now. The sitting US President was extorting state lawmakers from his own party by threatening to withhold public money if they didn’t gerrymander for him.

I don’t know how else to say it…

This is an admission that the federal judiciary, as a whole, does a fine job at upholding the rule of law.

Calling the press “fake news” is harmful. Calling them “seditious, perhaps even treasonous” for publishing reporting is something else entirely. Treason is a capital crime. Suggesting journalists should face it for exercising their First Amendment rights and doing their jobs is dangerous.
