Reminder: ICE’s budget has not been renewed — the House voted, but not the Senate — It will take 10 Democratic votes to stop it

“Shot dead” is passive. “murdered” names the actor. Words matter, especially when the state is pulling the trigger.

Earlier today, this map passed a million views. More than a quarter of those have happaned in the last three weeks.

It's becoming impossible for people to ignore the brutality of this regime, and a lot of them are looking for something they can do to help. But the map is just a tool. 1/2

Alex Pretti was an American hero. He saved lives. He protected people. He cared deeply about his community, unlike the murderous thugs who killed him.

The very last thing he did was try to help a woman who had been pepper-sprayed and violently shoved to the ground by ICE. 1/

Alex Pretti, Renee Good, and Keith Porter Jr. were murdered. Marimar Martinez was shot. Mahmoud Khalil was arrested and jailed.

The next could be you.

What’s at stake isn’t just our democracy. It’s also your safety and security and that of your loved ones.

This is personal — to every one of us.

Also, may I say that I don’t agree with people saying ICE and CBP need “more training.” They’re doing exactly what this administration has trained them to—impose a reign of fear in blue cities. They don’t need more training. They need to be ripped up root and branch.

Only speaking personally, but today’s execution isn’t scaring me from protecting our neighbors, as some suggest is ICE’s goal. Nor am I angry with incandescent rage, in that I know such rage is unhelpful. Rather, I feel like it has forced me to truly accept that the same fate might befall me.

Yes. You aren’t in Minneapolis to keep it safe. You are there to create mayhem. Everyone in America sees it and they don’t want us to give you another blank check.

Every day you stay there, you endanger the lives of citizens and law enforcement.

But that’s the point, right?

ICE's corporate backers want the same thing as the federal agents killing people in the streets. They want us to look the other way while they hurt our neighbors for profit.

Thank you to all who showed up to Citizens Bank actions in frigid temps to let them know: that is *not* going to happen.
