Constantly battling the forces of gravity. Lover of horror (all types), loud noisy music, crafts, video games, coffee, boots, and domesticated fuzzy wuzzies.
When I was first diagnosed with stage IV cancer, my first promise to myself was that I had to outlive Dick Cheney. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. I also made some more promises about outliving other people that I fully intend to keep.

I don't have a large following but I'mma boost this anyway: I have been reading Tom Tommorrow since the Odious Bush years, and you should, too, if you would like to laugh rather than stab out your eyes in despair. kickstarter.com/projects/tomorrow/our-long-national-nightmare-by-tom-tomorrow/

Currently in the process of fighting with one of those companies that does "cute" things to try to get you to not cancel. They have no idea who they are dealing with. If this is not canceled by end of day they are gonna regret I ever subscribed. I will be SO MEAN.

When one of the fittest women in America thinks she needs meds to lose weight and *then* endorses the product, it's time to admit that much of the conversation around weight is actually about fitting into modern European beauty standards and not about health at all. 🤷🏾‍♀️

I fled for California almost 30 years ago and I still look at pictures of certain places and I pine. But I will not set foot anywhere my trans homies are not safe and they're more concerned with teens having access to guns than they are teens having access to libraries.
I often struggle to explain to folks who have always lived in blue states that I love the Midwest and would live there if it were still possible. It is heartbreaking to not be safe living in the environment that made you who you are, and then live where people look down on you for being from there.

[me, incapable of masking my disappointment at all] are there no chips? Sorry, thank you for the money, I should have said that first, but did you just put the chips somewhere or— oh, there are no chips? Oh. Uh, well I mean, what did you do with these chips? Like if you tell someone you have chips,

Every single hed about TX state rep Collier says she’s “camping out” or “staying overnight”. She’s fucking LOCKED IN, that’s more accurately described as “being held prisoner”. Where the hell are the good journalists on this story? Please point me at them.

If "success" is ripping funding from the thing most likely to cure cancer altogether, then I would really fucking hate to see what failure looks like. I rarely say this but Chris should shut the fuck up and go back to acting. He can pretend to be a good person and I can pretend he's not a shitheel.
Chris Pratt is defending his extended family member Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and tackling entrenched partisan political beliefs: "I’d hate to be so mired in hatred for the president that any success from his administration is something I’d be having an allergic reaction to" bit.ly/45Dy2RD

Hakeem Jeffries says of Cuomo's attacks on Mamdani for living in a rent controlled apartment: "It's a legitimate issue that has been raised, and the [Mamdani] campaign is going to have to address it."

Can't post on facebook, can't get through to the imaging department, a bunch of my texts aren't going through. I feel like I'm being silenced. THIS AGGRESSION WILL NOT STAND, MAN.

This is not an abstract notion for me. My goal for cancer treatment was to stay alive long enough for this research to find me something that would cure it. If I die because of these fuckoes, in lieu of flowers, burn it all down.
There’s a nonzero chance you will die from a cancer that could have been curable because people who couldn’t pass 7th grade biology and are scared of things like “mRNA” and “riboflavin” and “walkable cities” decided to make their ignorance everybody else’s problem
Over 120 mRNA cancer trials are now at risk as the Trump admin cuts funding & tells researchers to scrub “mRNA” from grant proposals.

What started as COVID fearmongering is now derailing life-saving cancer research.

Hope remains - but scientists say time is running out.

I'm so excited about this, Congratulations, Josh!
This week, I’m hosting The Daily Show Tuesday through Thursday.

It’s my first time hosting anything on TV. Ever.

I’ve spent years writing behind the scenes, learning from truly great and talented people. Now, for three nights, I get to sit at the desk and do it myself.

I'm going to die a painful and completely preventable death much earlier than I otherwise would because some motherfucker cut cancer funding and ended clinical trials in the US, so yeah ALL my problems are because someone else is a billionaire, thanks.

I don't know much about how Lander handled the comptroller's office, but for me with Walz there is also the element of knowing how to use political capital with a very small majority and actually get left-of-center policies passed. He's got good dad energy, sure, but he also got stuff done.
The rise of people like Lander and Walz, whose ideologies don't exactly match mine but have the exact right combination of "love thy neighbor" and "fuck you, asshole" attitudes, is massive positive for people who care about left of center politics

I get to feel this way about both folks who are sober and folks who are battling cancer, and while I would not recommend either becoming an alcoholic or getting cancer, it's great to be able to root for folks in one very specific way, sometimes.
something nice about sobriety is how there are all these people in the world, most of whom i don’t know and many of whom i actively dislike, but i still get to root for them all in one very specific way
