Whether we look at it through Shamima Begum’s case or what is happening in USA with mass deportations/targeting of naturalised status, the terrifying reality is this: if you have dual heritage or “foreign” roots your citizenship rights are not secure. From 2019 👇 www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

“Holding anyone without conviction for over a year without trial, under highly restrictive conditions, raises serious ethical and legal concerns. The prisoners all have, as would be expected in a fair justice system, a right to bail and a fair trial.” Totally agree!

For many disabled people, showing up at a protest requires planning. Will there be an ASL interpreter or will you need to find a volunteer? Will the space be wheelchair accessible? For me, as a Deafblind person, I need a seat or table for my Braille computer and keyboard. 1/5

Blind people can’t see the royal crown, so we should be allowed to touch it, right? Edinburgh Castle wanted to increase accessibility while managing the security concerns posed by large crowds. What do you think of their creative solution?

The first Black woman to earn a Master's in Chemistry, she developed the Ball Method & it became the standard treatment for leprosy worldwide for >2 decades. BUT, just a year after her discovery, others took credit for her work. #WomenInSTEM (1/3)

🚨 “Can I tell you how many times in the last 45 years the European Court of Human Rights has ruled against the UK when it comes to deporting people from this country - only 13 times - in 45 years”

Please remember this in 2026 when Nigel Farage tells you we must leave the ECHR to control our borders
Human rights are universal - politicians may not always find them politically convenient but it shouldn’t fall to any government to say who those rights should & should not apply to. Because none of us then has rights, just privileges that can be taken away by those in power

Again, we learn that most people can make sensible decisions regardless of their level of income or wealth. Trouble is, many politicians base their careers on the myth of the irresponsible poor
A new trial gave homeless people £2,000 to spend however they choose. What they spent the money on may surprise you.

Women literally having to change the way their body works to accommodate men refusing to wear clothes of a different colour. What a world.
Times at school I tried to hide that I'd bled through. Working in a male dominated environment for my entire career.

The job for a Japanese firm I didn't take because the workwear was white.

Thank you Alex.

These unconscionable cuts by the Labour government to a vital lifeline fund for some of the most vulnerable children & young adults in England are staggering - a 60% reduction from £7.5K to just £3K per child.

They must be reversed
