Whales are the only form of energy from which the world has transitioned. 🥲
"Reducing our dependence on whales as an energy source will send us sliding down the slippery, spermaceti-lubricated slope to socialism. If we give up whaling, what will those lackwits come for next? Will I have to surrender my peg leg for a titanium prosthetic?"
I’m Captain Ahab and I Say We Must Never Transition Away from a Whale-Based Energy Industry
When I heard that the globalist oligarchs and fat cats in the Washington marshland were conspiring to invest in alternative, non-whale-based energy...

The 'random junk people have dumped in the community garden' leveled up over the weekend. This one isn't going to fit in my hard rubbish pile.

Fonterra have literally said that they have no social responsibility to New Zealand, so imho NZ has no responsibility to give them another cent.
Here’s a list of Fonterra brands to boycott.

* Anchor

* Fresh & Fruity

* Kapiti

* Mainland

* Mammoth

* Perfect Italiano

Fuck em.

Fun little drain garden outside Coburg Leisure Centre - I see drain gardens being taken out a lot now - without regular specialized maintenance they don't work as intended. Often the maintenance requirements weren't understood at install and are too much for the owners.

Very sad about the death of John Englart last week. Chihuahua's for Climate Action was brilliant and he will be very much missed in the Merri-Bek activist community.

Just casually helping the kids clean their room and now I have questions. Who's hand is this? We don't know. Where is the rest of them? No idea.

Just had a excellent convo with the youth on the till at the supermarket who is studying astrophysics and geospatial modelling. Talked very quickly about applications for local govt while scanning the million packets of yoghurt crackers that is all the 6 year old will eat for breakfast.

Finally got around to watching Heston's bipolar documentary. Heart breaking - if you know anyone with bipolar you should watch it. I'm type 2 so I don't see much of myself in his highschool - but watching him struggle with the impact of the meds is so real to me

There's a possum tail and a couple of bits of fur on the nature strip. No sign of the rest of the possum. What would do that? Powerful Owl?

Someone left this old energy monitor for me at work. They found it in the shed. Would have been peak tech in its time - it's still got the original price tag on - $264 AUD. You can get a reasonable equivalent of this for $40 AUD now.
