Hey everyone! So back in June, our cat Wicked needed an emergency surgery in order to remove a plastic toy piece he swallowed.

As a funny tribute, we created this sticker design with all the sales going towards paying off the $$$ vet bill!

Unacceptable. There are 189,000 people in my district who will be paying 50–300% more for the same, and in many cases worse, healthcare.

I won’t do that to the people I represent. I’m a NO on this “deal.”

...to be fair, it DOES say to answer with "something that will catch our eye!" for this application.

Anyway, happy(???) belated anniversary to losing my full-time job last fall and being nowhere CLOSE to landing interviews in this crappy 2025 job market...

I am not actually sure these corporations, or institutions writ large, are in fact thinking about the regime or its future. They're making short term deals that benefit them, either because they want to do mergers, or purge their own troublemakers. These people are quarterly thinkers with no vision.

Every. Single. Story. about women not using AI as much as men portray it as bad for their future career prospects (without a shred of evidence) and a result of women being fearful little ladies rather than looking at AI's output and saying "this sucks, it's not going to help me."
For women, the increase of AI use in the workplace may affect their careers: Harvard study
Women are using AI significantly less then men and it’s going to have a major impact on their careers, according to extensive research on the topic.

STOP USING AI

it doesn't help your art, it doesn't help your writing. It's garbage and it's ALREADY ABOUT TO KILL PEOPLE.
Some places will have to start rationing water - to enable AI slop.

"A data center like Meta’s, which was completed last year, typically guzzles around 500,000 gallons of water a day. New data centers [will] require millions of gallons of water a day"

I've had this dilemma re: "Am I not getting hired because I'm not using genAI?" question, because I make the effort to humanize my responses on questionnaires, cover letters, etc., yet I always get auto-rejected after submitting a job application—by some robotic ATS software, nonetheless (1/2).

Someone else said something very similar to this the other day, but.

It really burns me that our (millennials') generation was legally terrorized for like, downloading Radiohead discographies

But we're supposed to be ok with billionaires stealing human intellectual output in its entirety bc AI

✨NEW POST✨: Did I ever share that I signed up for a romantasy writing challenge last spring? Well, the winners were announced and even though I didn’t crack the top 10, I said “fuck it” and decided to post my submitted short story on my newsletter!

I don't 'refuse to use' AI, I just don't use AI; in the same way that I don't shoplift, or plagiarise other people's books - it requires no effort of will, it's just not something I would think of doing
Bizarrely framed article about the people (all women) who ‘refuse to use AI’. And a #philosophy professor who says “The moment to opt out of #AI has already passed”. Oh well. That’s that then. 🤷‍♂️ #AIEthics www.bbc.com/news/article...
