As best I can tell from the two MN shooting videos, things went down like this: the shooter walks around the passenger side of the car, being filmed at close range by the person in a white hat. The car creeps forward twice as he walks behind it, so he should be aware that the car is in gear. 🧵

I'm standing in front of a bathroom stall door waiting for its occupant to finish. The door opens and out walks Buzz Aldrin.

I'm too surprised to make an ass of myself, luckily.
Right folks. Feeling rather down at the moment so bringing back an oldie

Why does so much PC gaming equipment have colored LEDs embedded in it? I just had to download a ~350mb file to make my $30 Steelseries mouse stop having a rave.

I worked at a company that digitized and indexed archives. Not only is the realm of primary sources incomprehensibly large, but it's expensive to generate a digital archive of documents searchable by more than title. A large collection costs 6-7 figures and sells for 5-6 figures.
When we say "no, everything hasn't been digitized," I need you to understand that we really mean is that virtually nothing has been digitized. This is because the realm of primary sources that historians use is incomprehensibly large.
Seems like it's worth posting this one again.

There is no such thing as the State
And no one exists alone;
Hunger allows no choice
To the citizen or the police;
We must love one another or die.

Wow, Casey Newton actually did journalism on a tech exec?
This interview is a snapshot into where tech companies are with online harassment right now.

They know how to end it, but they decided not to spend the money. They’re prioritizing growth (and profit) above all else. And they’re blaming YOU for logging on to the platform they designed to be unsafe.
