If you’ve ever got imposter syndrome, just remember that Bari Weiss let dozens of opportunities to spike the CECOT story pass her by, only to elect to do so at almost the worst possible moment and all for naught because Canada aired it anyway.

Bari Weiss proving she’s never heard of Betteridge’s Law.

My seventeen year old son just referred to a comma as a “lower case apostrophe,” if you want to know how parenting is going.

It’s right up there with “signing up for a Disney+ free trial means you give up the right to sue Disney for killing your relative due to negligent handling of food allergens at their theme park.”
"It is against the TOS to be talked into suicide by our LLM" is possibly the most evil tech bro thing I've ever read

This is like if Phillip Morris printed “you may not contract cancer while using this product” inside the bottom flap of a pack of cigarettes and then arguing that indemnifies them against claims that cigarettes give you cancer.

This is probably all because someone important made fun of the “from Earth” tweet location but and now he’s trying to impress them or something.
X has changed their policy and now you can see where the accounts are based.

Here’s an “influencer from Texas”

Gemini’s about to learn a whole lot about fake PayPal receipts for purchasing Etherium and FREE HOME DEPOT GIFT CARDS.
If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."

There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

Hodgkin's Law of Parallel Planetary Development but for Pier 1 home decor.
There's a curious combination of familiar objects in Dr. Timicin's quarters in #StarTrekTNG's "Half a Life": ⬆️: Inside one of the bowls that held the meal worms for the alien parasites in "Consipracy"➡️ is the blue Edo ball that got Wesley into lots of trouble on Rubicun III in "Justice"⬅️ . ;-)

So, uh, @bestofnextdoor.bsky.social, you might know - anyone else receiving Nextdoor TOS updates that A) are for someone else; and B) reveal their email address (not pictured)?

(And I checked, the links are legit, though it would be hilarious if scammers were trying to bait folks with a TOS email)

I am not watching the video in fear my brain will forcibly exit my body in an ill-fated attempt to save itself, but the quote text here is like when you just tap the middle text autosuggestion on an iPhone keyboard over and over.
Trump: "Christians and more, think of this, more than twice as likely foster care they'll adopt the general population. They adopt to it so easily. When they get out, they adopt to it like it's become second nature. It's amazing."

Fuck, I was all ready to post about how LinkedIn’s algorithm is a siren song to hypercapitalists and needs to be studied, and then I realized this wasn’t even posted there. It just _felt_ like it.

Pope Leo XIV: “It’s undeniable that Weekend at Bernie’s is an allegory for the Resurrection of the Christ. The hijinx that ensue? A divine gift.”
Pope Leo has shared his four favorite movies of all time, as the Vatican prepares to host dozens of actors and directors in a “World of Cinema” gathering on Saturday at his official residence. See which films made the pope's list. nyti.ms/4p3exK9

I may as well just point my paycheck’s direct deposit to LEGO at this point.

Also hilarious that “Klingon forehead” and “Guinan hat” are official LEGO elements now.

I’m pretty sure the only way this actually-real email from Apple could look less legitimate is if they misspelled “store” or hosted their order status page at real-dot-app-dot-le-dot-biz or something.

Pictured: Cuomo, voting for Mamdani while thinking “The Devil said running again was part of the bargain we made but he never said I couldn’t vote against myself. Fuck I just want to move to Florida for a few goddamn years before I turn over my soul for eternal damnation, please let him win”.

Feds: We’re charging this man with assault.
Also feds: No, we did not collect the discarded weapon we allege was used in the assault into evidence.
Defense is now questioning Lairmore on cross-examination. They show a video still of the sandwich and wrapper on the ground, post-throw.

"Do you recognize that sandwich?" the attorney asks.

Lairmore won't confirm.

"I did not go back to collect it," he says.

I love it when two giant companies are fighting over, like, a dollar of my money, claim they’re acting in my best interest, and demonstrate that by making things difficult for me.

Unrelated, signed up for NFL+ so my wife and son can watch a football game while Disney and Google “negotiate.”

The delightful thing about how Bluesky handles quote posts is that you end up seeing posts like this with no context, but a wealth of possibilities about what they’re referring to, all terrible.
