WHY are we still holding the #HugoAwards on some pedestal when we KNOW they censored Xiran Jay Zhao from the Lodestar list because the execs wanted to go to China?? or the fact that they nominate BIPOC but rarely win?? and then treated Kamilah Cole this way??

HUGO AWARDS DONT GIVE AF ABOUT BIPOC.
Hey, I have had a largely great experience at Worldcon, but the #Hugos owe @wordsiren.bsky.social an apology for forgetting to include her in the announced Lodestar nominees during the award ceremony. Kamilah deserved celebration, not this blatant disrespect.

I've been staring at this cover for SO long and it still amazes me just how beautiful it is. A literal masterpiece, and for a book that's just as perfect. 😍🎉💃

Tonight an unbelievable **34,000 people** gathered for our Denver rally to take on billionaires and win our country back.

This was the largest political gathering in Denver since Obama in 2008.

Also bigger than the 2024 DNC.

And the largest ever rally in Bernie’s career (and obviously, mine too).

What do you call humans being kidnapped and sent to another country to be imprisoned in shackles and forced to perform intense physical labor while living in horrid conditions under the threat of daily physical violence and rape?

Open a history book. You can do it. I believe in you.

We expected 2,000 people out in GOP-held Greeley, Colorado.

11,000 people showed up.

Something special is happening, folks. Now is the time to organize in every dimension possible and get to work.

I am more progressive now than I have ever been in my whole life.
You know what stories I would like to read and hear about?

People who have been pushed even more to the left/progressive/ Dem socialist side after the last several years-- and after everything happening with the Dem establishment now.

President Trump can't punish and deport someone for their political beliefs.

Mahmoud Khalil has not been charged with a crime — he must be released immediately.

Yeah, I'll be totally honest. When I mention that my book got banned and straight white women start applauding or shouting "good for you!" or do that thing where they go "wow, I want that someday", like... that is a stab in the gut. And then you have to fake smile or get called ungrateful & rude.
Some people think getting your books banned is a badge of honor, but it’s not. As I told Ms. Mag: “It’s not a badge of honor to have my creative work denigrated as obscene, especially when that work is about queer people and people of color. It’s offensive to have my work mischaracterized this way.”
