Explaratory trip to Ikea via bike and train.

If you have a Tern GSD with a front basket and clubhouse bars, it won't fit the tiny Sylvia Park train station lifts — so you have to lock it up at the platform. Freakin' short-term money-saving decisions strike again!

Otherwise, very easy trip

We love the OG Mānuka Storygrove at Tūranga but let's hear it for the Mānuka Stories book nooks popping up at libraries all around Ōtautahi!
We hope you're enjoying these cosy, shady spaces in libraries (a thread). ^MT
I can confirm it’s a pleasant temperature at Tūranga. There’s also a Mānuka Storygrove so kids can really lean into reading & relaxing in a cool space. ^DR

THIS.
So chicken farms have started spending millions of dollars putting in state of the art air filtration and circulation systems - because culling whole flocks to mitigate avian flu is expensive - but we have done zero to improve air quality in schools - because kids are expendable I guess.

Fresh post! Once a hot-pink symbol of Auckland's ambition, the iconic Lightpath/ Te Ara i Whiti is looking a little under-loved on its tenth birthday.💖🥺🎁

🧵 I like Auckland, but jeez the driving here is...AAARGHH!!!

In a ten-minute journey, I witnessed:

▪︎ 2x cars without headlights
▪︎ VW Polo blatantly run a red light
▪︎ Multi-car pile-up in Park Rd (outside City Hospital)
▪︎ 3x lads in an AMG Merc which sounded like it had firecrackers up its bum 🧨 💥
