Boomerese: A distinct written dialect of English that (predominantly) boomers use to write emails or texts, which requires as much brain power to decipher as Legalese.

Usually features weird syntax, clipped sentences, spelling errors and a "Sent from my iPhone" sign off.

Example:
Here's the full Summers email, btw.

Yes - people need to quit it with the infighting about how local candidates are "too progressive" or "not progressive enough." Just like Jamelle said earlier: stop thinking "Big Tent" and start thinking about linking the Smaller Tents together. Progressives & Mainstream Dems should be linking arms.
ah, perhaps instead of pumping millions into endless factional infighting Dem donors could invest in making local Dem organizations genuine civic spaces that can reach people during and between elections

There's a 24/7 corner store in Regent Park with trays of food from fried chicken and beef patties to chicken tikka and biryani

The best shawarma in the city is in a 24/7 Hasty Market in Davisville.

From food trucks and corner store foods to more 24/7 stuff we need to actually act like a big city.

MASSIVE dub. Detroit, Boston, NYC stay winning at the municipal level.

Happy to see all the Dem wins at the state levels, but municipal politics are the most important in your day to day. This is where you can affect positive change the fastest.
Detroit City Council President Mary Sheffield has won the mayor’s race, according to the Associated Press. She becomes the city’s first woman mayor, a Black woman, with housing for single-mother-led households as a major part of her legacy and platform. 19thnews.org/2025/11/mary...

i want to repeat this: mamdani and spanberger have run similar campaigns tailored to their respective electorates and it is maddening to watch political journalists attempt to create some broad contrast where none exist
the other thing about this is that there is no reason to pit these candidates against each other? each are good fits for their respective electorates and each shows the value of vigorous campaigns focused on the stated material problems of voters.

A pro-affordability, anti-Trump-corruption message unites the party. Every candidate can run on that, and every candidate can have their own take to fit that to their constituents. There's really no need to find fights to pick when the party agrees on more than it disagrees
Came here to say this, but Jamelle Bouie has this covered. 👇
When the Democratic tent includes candidates like Spanberger and Mamdani, there is no crisis, or fight, for the party. IT’S A COALITION, NOT A POINT ESTIMATE.

Also - just for #Dodgers fans: Jays fans don't care about Drake. That was more of a Raptors thing, but Drake has basically been unclaimed by Toronto post-2019.
Canadian here. Lifelong Torontonian. We do not use the term “Glue Jays” and in fact this is the first I’m hearing of this
The World Series was played outside the U.S. for the first time in 32 years this October, when the Toronto Blue Jays united fans across Canada as the country’s only MLB team. The team even became known as the “Glue Jays” before the Los Angeles Dodgers ended their thrilling postseason run.

Call it #BlueJays fan cope all you want, we still won the pennant and got "DAAAA JANKIES LOSE" after placing last in our division last year. I am immensely satisfied as both a Jays fan and an MLB fan.

Well done, Dodgers! What an incredible series. I'm happy for Teoscar Hernandez. Sad the Jays lost, but I can't even be mad.
