Text reads: WEST *BANK MPLS Community Notice - Cedar-Riverside | Saturday, January 17 Community leaders in Cedar-Riverside, including elected officials, rapid response teams, faith leaders, community organizations, and residents, are sharing the following information to ensure safety and clarity this weekend. We have been made aware that a small group of racist and anti-Muslim agitators may attempt to come into the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood on Saturday, January 17. Their intention appears to be to provoke disruption and create fear. Our community will not be drawn into that. To support safety and stability, trained community patrollers wearing yellow vests, faith leaders wearing orange vests, and local law enforcement, including the Sheriff's Office and the Minneapolis Police Department, will be present to monitor and respond to any potential concerns. Guidance for Cedar-Riverside Community Members • Do not be afraid • Go about your day as usual. • If you see protest activity or offensive behavior, do not engage, argue, confront, or respond • Avoid conversations with strangers, individuals recording video, or members of the media. • If you have concerns or feel unsafe, approach a community patroller or call 911. Guidance for Those Outside the Community No protest activity is needed, welcomed, or appropriate inside Cedar-Riverside. • If you wish to support the community, please coordinate with your local neighborhood rapid response network rather than coming into the area. I know people on Bsky know this but I hope it filters out: The feds are OCCUPYING the Twin Cities. This is a blockade, a siege. They are shutting down economic and civic activity. They are conducting "papers please" stops. They are criminalizing being a bystander/witness.

4 Lakota men were kidnapped by ICE in Minneapolis. 3 of them were taken to what used to be a concentration camp for Native people, and the only people talking about it are other Indigenous people. I am angry but mostly numb, I am so used to this at this point. We are always forgotten.

For people outside Minneapolis: North is the historically Black part of the city. It's been heavily disinvested from, gutted by the 2008 mortgage crisis, and got hit by a tornado which did damage you can still see from aerial photos. It's no mistake ICE is going after more vulnerable populations.

i feel for the people of north minneapolis if they’re about to become a protest hot spot from outside the neighborhoods. this is an area often neglected and ignored by even its own elected officials. people not from over north should really be judicious in how they act coming over there
