Throwback: In 1976 a woman was pulled over and ticketed for biking on Greenwood Ave because she was not going the 35mph speed limit. She and @cascade.org challenged (and lost), and Seattle Police leaders told the Council that they should ban biking on city streets. The SPD spokesperson? Tim Burgess.

Seattle mayor-elect (almost) Katie Wilson, welcome to The War on Cars.

She walks the walk (literally) and is calling out the grifters. 🥳

THIS IS NOT A DRILL

TRANSIT RIDERS HAVE TAKEN OVER THE CITY OF SEATTLE
With basically all the ballots in the city of Seattle's mayoral election counted, Katie Wilson is now above 50 percent, with Mayor Bruce Harrell sliding to 49.6 percent. They're currently within the mandatory recount requirements, but machine recounts don't generally change things much.

Wow. While we wait for the few remaining ballots to be counted, we feel like we have won this race. The recent drop put us nearly 1,400 votes ahead, just under the .5 percent threshold for a mandatory recount.

The thought of not having a boomer mayor, who lives part time in another city, and thinks that you have to drive from Downtown to SLU truly makes the heart race.
Seattle mayoral candidate Katie Wilson is now ahead in this nail-biter of an election count.

SEATTLE!!!

We’ve now taken the lead by 91 votes! 🤯 This thing is certainly not over! Over 1,000 ballots have been challenged, so if you haven’t tracked your ballot yet get on it! Our trusty volunteers have been working hard to "cure" ballots so they count! We're so close!
