jesus the Palm Beach Police really sought arrest warrants against underage Epstein victims for coming forward and cooperating, and (purported) admitting to crimes, and it caused the victims to become uncooperative with the federal investigation

I would posit that (as well as a shorter work week,) this is directly related to the fact that everyone there has access to healthcare and education.
Sick and worried people aren't happy and well off, and the countries that "win" in the 21st Century will be the ones with the best educated public.

As a childless 40-something, I have no cultural connection to whatever the hell an Elf on the Shelf is. Friends and family with kids talk about it. I nod, but don’t really understand. What is the point of the elf on the shelf? Does the shelf provide a better vantage point for the elf to slay orcs?
