Satisfactory is one of those games that I want to enjoy, but I get to (roughly) the same spot each time and when things don't divide neatly, "burn out" doesn't even begin to encapsulate the rate at which my brain collapses on itself and I nope out.

With 40 major airports having flights delayed or cancelled, double check that your flight to/from Philly wasn’t one of them!

Make sure to check periodically and stay safe everyone!
I can’t wait to be surrounded by the ttrpg community at #PAXUnplugged once again. ✨

To be very clear, The Gauntlet is an unabashedly queer-centric publisher, our games put themes of queerness and gender front and center, and our founder and operator (me) is a gay POC. Our values are in every single page of our games.

Does anyone know what system this Apocalypse World game runs on?

I’m seeing it everywhere.

Thinking of that one dungeon from the JRPG Legend of Dragoon where you have to go through literal bureaucracy to complete the dungeon, using the process of submitting and implementing bills into law to open doors/shortcuts.

Wild.

My dumb ttrpg hot take is that a culture of houserules/homebrews has been created based on games where the rules kinda stink, so when games come out with actually decent rules and structure, the first thing people want to do is change or ignore them, to their own detriment.

I sort of love how this erotic role playing game appears to be built on a solidly math heavy 1980s rules framework.

Seen a lot of people observing that Halloween candy singles are smaller (remember when Reese's were one regular cup?). They used to call them "fun size". But since these are even smaller, I feel like we can only call them...

Unfun Size.

I don't know what Over/Under is, and at this point, I'm scared to ask.

Why I value community: my music taste, left to my own devices, was pretty awful. My first CD was Astrolounge, by Smashmouth.

Friends and colleagues introduced me to new music, expanded my tastes, in ways I could not have done on my own. Even with "research".

Political systems in strategy video games are gonna be insane in the years to come, aren't they?

Book 3 of the Dandelion Dynasty introduces a villain so one-dimensional that, had I read this book in 2018 or so, I would've put the series away right then and there.

But seeing her speech and intentions mirrored so exactly in my government kept me riveted, in that horror-novel dread way.

"I’ve never used AI and probably never will [...] I think it still feels more rewarding to go through the hardships of creating something myself.

Nobuo's got it. I think people who use AI for creative work are sidestepping the most important step of the process.

Dandelion Dynasty:
Oga Kidosu gotta be grinning from the other side of the River On Which Nothing Floats knowing that two of his kids, who grew up not knowing each other, each successfully courted a member of the Dandelion Dynasty.

Pretty good for a poor fisherman who had some wildly strange luck.

Thinking of that bit from Kingdom of Heaven when Guy looks at Raynald of Châtillon and says "Give me a war."

Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire. I hated all the characters and the world so much by the end that I was skipping dialogue. I just knew I was near the last dungeon so I bee-lined it down and said "to hell with your archipelago. It can burn for all I care."
What's the worst game you finished/rolled credits on?

(games media folks, it can't be something you were assigned to review; this has to be something you subjected yourself to of your own free will)

This game means a lot to me. The first time I ever got paid for TTRPG writing was for this. It's weird and wonderful and you should check it out.

I feel like Reddit primed people for AI. How many people have watched with horror a comment in their field of expertise from some rando get hundreds of upvotes, and a correction beneath it gets 6 reactions because it was posted 20 hours later after the wildfire of attention moved to something else.

Those Italians make good music.
