I make games - co-op games - Left 4 Dead, portal, etc - now The Anacrusis.
One odd thing between Unreal and Godot for me.

When I do a bunch of work in unreal blueprints and then go to test it and it works I always have a sense of relief

Where in Godot and C# I just did like an hour of work to test and it worked and I just felt satisfaction... it just feels cleaner.

I don't get this... now? And based on Clair Obscur?

I thought $50 actually seemed high...

Games are cheaper now, between actual cost you pay vs list and all the free to play, games may have never been cheaper... sure there are big games going for $70 or MS trying to pad game pass value but...
One takeaway from the DICE convention here in Las Vegas, where game makers gather to pitch and schmooze?

Most video games should not cost $70.

This week’s column: www.bloomberg.com/news/newslet...
Video Games Need to Be Cheaper to Buy
One way to get out of the video-game industry funk is to recognize that players aren’t spending $70 on most games

Plus I got to vote for her!
ICYMI: I introduced my Trans Bill of Rights with @markey.senate.gov — legislation to defend trans people across this country as Republicans continue to push anti-trans rhetoric and bills.

This really is the intelligence of the far left…

AOC is as evil as trump so…

If you don’t vote for a president, the office is magically left empty and the world heals!

Uh… not a funny story but…

Hope they got to take their minds off the pain and maybe catch the DICE awards and see the industry celebrating the craft and community of game making.

Oh… oooh… yeah, uh… don’t watch that.

wtf?
A laid off Highguard developer has criticised online "dogpiling", "ragebait content" and personal attacks, saying negative discourse "absolutely played a role" in the game's poor launch and subsequent layoffs.

I wouldn’t have thought layoffs, games struggling with rough launches, raping children and non-consensual nudes would be good punchlines for jokes…

But here we are.

I do now understand people staying on twitter… bad things only happen to other people.

When the white nationalists started talking openly like this I am so glad we all raised together and said no, that this was unacceptable

Really proud of the game industry in particular about their strong vocal stance against it!

Oh wait… no… I’m just really high right now and imagining what ifs…

The @seattletimes.com hatred of @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social is crazy.

There is a mass migration of wealthy people from Washington and California because Katie Wilson got elected…. Okay.

One piece of data they use? All the rich people using U-Haul?

Absolutely wild how people continue to support and normalize musk.

Gotta ask @gameovergreggy.bsky.social is it because these deaths aren’t white folk?

At this point the only way to get people to stand up to evil is to keep shooting white people.
HORRIFYING -
Dismantling USAID & cancelling >80% of aid caused ~750,000 deaths by mid-2025

🧸Most were children
⌛️ Many died within the first year

😰 Preventable deaths were mainly from:
- HIV, TB, malaria
- Maternal & fetal deaths
- Malnutrition

It's wild seeing people tell me games haven't grown out of early access...

Baldur's Gate 3, Hades, Deep Rock, Subnautica, Slay the Spire, Rust, DayZ, Pubg etc etc etc...

Someone will now tell me one of these really didn't grow out of early access as some gotcha...

Read the reports... by the people making the stuff.

It isn't replacing everyone. Or barely anyone.

But it shows why I had this clown blocked, he treats humans as props and himself as special... this special boy is irreplaceable but everyone else does meaningless work easily replaced.

It's tiring

Man... blaming Keighley for Highguard's problems is wild...

Continually making Geoff out as evil for giving a small developer a chance at a highly coveted, expensive ad placement for free is...

And related... it's heartbreaking to see "i think most of the staff" or some version of that in people announcing they were being laid off.

Treat people as your peers, not as props. Speak clearly and give information so they can understand what is happening, even better tell them early the risks.
February 12, 2026 at 1:04 AM
For Highguard... why so quick?

Guessing

It's free to play, so they not only need players, they need players to convert to paying players

but they have a stink on them so players are hesitant and they are stuck in a death loop of more players are bad for their costs and not good for their revenue.

~4k concurrent today - a few weeks post launch - for a brand new ip from an unknown developer.

Just a few years ago this would have been a success. Expectations are so around, the biggest game ever or failure, with nothing in-between anymore.

Never a chance to find it's self anymore.
Wildlight (Highguard) lays off staff according to a LinkedIn post

"Unfortunately, along with most of the team at Wildlight, I was laid off today.

This one really stings as there was a lot of unreleased content I was really looking forward to that I and others designed for Highguard."

Our timeline

We have to remember to keep up on the news of trump terrorizing Minnesota

While we watch reports of him raping and murdering children

He is president

He won

10s of millions of people wanted this
The headlines may have gotten distracted, but the violence, brutality, and lack of accountability have persisted within our community. Minnesota is still under occupation.
This is the aftermath of an ICE kidnapping a few blocks from my home in St. Paul—an hour ago. A quiet street full of broken glass and at least three wrecked cars. The target of the kidnapping was taken away by ambulance. He was on a stretcher and covered by a sheet, though a cop said he was alive.

“Jeffrey Epstein is the reason we have microtransactions in video games”

Can we stop saying this meme? It simply isn't true... at all.

And it makes him sound like some super genius pulling the strings from afar vs some guy who raped and killed children and helped others do the same.

It's almost like... hang on... if we just wanted to deport people, we wouldn't need to build giant detention centers?

And I know... immigrants are less than human and there time on this earth isn't equal to my own, I understand but still...

Right? That's a funny way to deport someone.
ICE has now spent over half a BILLION dollars just on purchasing warehouses around the country to convert into detention camps.

If these mega-camps are utilized to the full capacity ICE intends, they'll be the largest prisons in the country, with little real oversight. www.ajc.com/politics/202...
