they don't have the attention span for this. they hoover up so much but they don't know what to do with (and almost never promote) things beyond the ten shows they push to everyone's home screen.

Acquisitions aside, I will never get over what Netflix did with City of Ghosts.
so many cool, inventive and interesting animated projects none of you even knew were being made for the past few years just got shitcanned because of this netflix/wb merger

When you're like "geez there's no animation jobs" "geez there's like no new shows anymore", this is why

defunctland videos are great because everyone in charge of disneyland for the past half century have been trying to carry out what they think walt would’ve wanted like they’re the patriots in MGS trying to carry out the boss’s will. coincidentally both involve giant robot dinosaurs

Thinking about Michael Eisner and the relative quaintness of a CEO making major decisions (A Bug's Life, Disney Quest) to spite one person specifically (Jeffrey Katzenberg) compared to the depravity and stupidity of modern CEOs (wanting to destroy civilization/believing in Roko's basilisk)

I don't suppose anyone out there has an archive of old Disney quarterly reports? Looking for ones from the late 70s.

Bob Iger - the NBA Experience of CEOs
The ultimate failure of Bob Iger is his inability to create a succession plan. I genuinely believe if Zenia Mucha was the brains behind Disney for a LONG time.

Heard from a friend at Disney+ that there are multiple levels of freakout internally, both from internal dissatisfaction, concerns about subscription cancelations, and of course the big one: concern about a boycott spilling over into parks and cruises.

I literally don't know why anyone would go to D23. Perhaps at one time it was a community event, but now? Nah man. It's a cultural stakeholders call.
Fan Sites and the Emporium were part of D23 Expo since it's first year in 2009.

Nothing "fan" left of this "Ultimate Disney Corporate Presentation Event" it seems.
Just saw this on Reddit about the 2026 #D23 Expo. This is a bold choice considering the Emporium booths were the busiest area of the convention floor. That’s where I found my Disneyland ticket book!

You almost never see/hear/read a person-on-the-street quote in which that person is saying "Yeah, immigrants are great." If it hates it rates just like if it bleeds it leads, and we get a disproportionate number of right-wingers sharing their hate and disinformation about immigration from msm.

We did get a bit when Trump attacked the town with a lot of Haitian immigrants last year, but mainstream media tends to give right-wing haters disproportionate coverage while treating them as the beasts/gods who must be appeased at any cost.
