It’s really important that #Vancouver’s Downtown Business Association, who were originally against bike-lanes, are now among their most vigourous supporters, because of ACTUAL EVIDENCE that they’re better for downtown business than any street parking they replaced.

Safe bike-lanes mean business.

We played an incredibly complex tabletop game yesterday on my friend’s custom built gaming table. It has built-in lights, charger ports, and a cup/snack holder.

The game lasted around 4 hours. I still don’t know how to play it, but I came second somehow. So, that was nice.

Morning peeps! I’ve written a piece for @thespinoff.bsky.social on why I ended up taking legal action against my employer and a little bit about how it played out. The whole story needs a book to tell but this is a good start 😂 thespinoff.co.nz/society/01-1... thespinoff.co.nz/society/01-1...

For 30 years, Louis Theroux has built a career as a documentarian and interviewer by simply asking questions and allowing people to speak without challenge. It is interesting to note the specific subject matter that has suddenly rendered his heretofore lauded technique as unacceptable malpractice.

Most of the time I think people should deal with relationship trauma by getting therapy, but not in the case of Lilly Allen. The album is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

It will surprise no one that I have ordered some tea towels.
Hey - guess who just had a hmmm and realised that tomorrow is a public holiday, and if I don't want to spend the day sorting out my fabric order, I could just keep tea towel pre-orders open for another day...

BBC Archive just uploaded The Lonely Shore (1962), a surreal 15-minute short that takes the form of a scientific report from an abandoned and desolate future Britain. Written by Jacquetta Hawkes, an actual archaeologist, and directed by Ken Russell, an actual madman.
