Mā te whakātu ka mōhio, mā te mōhio ka mārama,
mā te mārama ka mātau, mā te mātau ka ora.

With discussion comes knowledge, with knowledge comes understanding,
with understanding comes wisdom, with wisdom comes well-being.

Taxpayer Union pet policy to cost taxpayers billions, again
I did not want to take this newsletter out of hiatus. I really didn’t! I have my kids to look after, I have projects to do, I have lawns to mow. As I write this my absurdly cute 8 month old daughter is chasing my laptop around the house, as she has picked today to […]

Dr Parmar. You're apparently a scientist.

Front with the evidence.
Unverifiable claims and "it looks wrong" doesn't cut it. Especially when you consider the far reaching societal consequences of your bill.

Burden of proof lies with those making the claims.

'When he asked if curriculum literature content should depend on the culture of the host country, Rata replied:

“No, literature should be selected for teaching at school because of its quality, and its quality is based on how it captures what it is to be human."

Lost my CDC contract after a visit from DOGE. I feel like I’m in the dirt (or TBH eating a pint of ice cream on a couch crying). But here’s the thing: Pushing people down—especially those with heart, purpose, and love for public service—doesn’t mean they stay down. It’s literally against their DNA.

My cartoon in today's www.thepost.co.nz/nz-news/3605... (standing in for Sharon Murdoch for the next 6 weeks).

Waitangi Day was supposed to be a coming together of our Nation to commemorate the signing of our founding document. Slightly hijacked by Mr Seymour.

I really hope that the opportunity to chair the select committee has addressed some gaps for James Meager. There were some evident from his maiden speech in Parliament.

Elizabeth Rata cites NZ Education Act 1877 as a commitment to a united people of NZ. In fact, the Act's Mason purpose was to make provision for 12 regional boards. But more relevantly, it made schooling compulsory for "non-Māori." Is this not what she deems "apartheid"? #nzpol

They will never apologize as long as DS is it's leader. I genuinely don't recall any time when DS has publicly apologized or conceded anything despite the many opportunities he creates for himself.
Tautoko @ganeshahirao.bsky.social. "There must be a formal apology from this House that this repulsive Bill ever got introduced in the first place."

Invitation for an MP from a party other than Act to introduce a motion in the House to this effect after this bill inevitably is voted down.

The Chair points out Hobson's Pledge didn't reply by the deadline to submit contra the 1st minute of their submission making it sound like they'd not been invited 😂. They still got a chance to submit.

As I heard one Member mutter in the background "sounds like special rights".

Calmly, articulately, quietly brutally taking down absurd modes of thought & absurd policy proposals.

Vintage Carwyn. I hope the committee is embarrassed to put him in the position of having to make these incredibly obvious points. This Bill shames the house by its very consideration.
