Could I be the liberal Joe Rogan? No, I could not. Virginia native, long time New Yorker. I’d rather be reading Tolstoy.
I greatly enjoyed @drkatemarvel.bsky.social’s book “Human Nature” and plan to give it as a gift. But lol, the scientists in “E.T.” were trying to resuscitate him, not kill him! It scared me as a child too, but I watched it with my kids recently and gained new respect for Peter Coyote’s character

I think what the GOP Congress don't understand, or don't care about, is the extent to which:

a) the removal of the ACA's premiums credit will wreck consumer spending if those ACA users try to cut $ corners to afford health care, and

B) ACA users think of that hike as a possible death sentence.

The DJT administration fired 8 immigration judges in NYC today.

All the judges were dismissed from the immigration court’s offices at 26 Federal Plaza, a building that houses the NYC headquarters ICE and has become the epicenter of migrant arrests in the city.

@hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social this is not an issue where you should see which way the wind is blowing. An unqualified clown is turning our sailors and airmen into murderers and destroying the foundations of the alliances that keep us safe and prosperous. Impeachment is a duty, not an option
For some reason Democratic leaders seem to prefer telling voters what they won’t be able to do, rather than what they’d like to do.

If Hegseth ordered a war crime and lied about it, shouldn’t Ds try for impeachment? Put Rs on the spot. They might get a few defections.

Jeffries says not to expect Democrats to pursue Hegseth impeachment over boat strikes
"Republicans will never allow articles of impeachment to be brought to the floor," he said.

Creeps like Brendan Carr and Steve Bannon have worked really hard to seize the commanding heights of media for Trump so he can fulfill his destiny and win the culture wars forever or some shit. He’s using that power… to get “Rush Hour 4” made www.ign.com/articles/don...
Donald Trump Reportedly Wants to Revive the 'Raucous Comedies and Action Movies' of the Late '80s to Late '90s — and Has 'Personally Pressed' Larry Ellison on Rush Hour 4 - IGN
It’s been 18 years since Rush Hour 3 came out, and most think the action comedy franchise is dead and buried. But if Donald Trump reportedly gets his way, a new Rush Hour film will be made.

Difficult to overstate how profound a failure DOGE was. Spending in FY2025 was not only than in FY2024 – but higher than it was projected to be when Trump first took office.*

The little bit of spending DOGE cut has already killed hundreds of thousands and will eventually lead to millions of deaths.
Bye bye, “DOGE”.

It no longer exists as a “centralized entity”, according to the Office of Personnel Management.

In my dictionary, the phrases "post-liberal" and
"no enemies to the right" and "neo-reactionary" and "alt-right" are merely euphemisms for "fascist" and "authoritarian."

what the fuck are we DOING here
Panera’s moderately caffeinated lemonade was loosely associated with 2 deaths before it was taken off market.

This article alone has 4 examples of ChatGPT encouraging young people to commit suicide, and OpenAI’s own public stats estimate over a million users discuss suicide with ChatGPT each week.

How is it that no one in Cornell’s administration has seen _The Godfather Part II_, in which Vito demonstrates both craft and might when Don Fanucci wants to wet his beak? They’re entrusted with inculcating the values of Western Civilization in our youth, yet ignore the classics SMH

To understand what was at stake here: in VA, the AG gets to appoint university counsel. From Jim Ryan’s forced resignation to the (mercifully) reject “Compact” to the odious and bizarre “settlement,” UVA has been hamstrung by counsel chosen by the state’s GOP administration. That’s about to change.

Firmly believe one of the ways to improve trust in journalism among young people is to support them in learning to research, write, and report themselves. Even if they never pursue it as a job, it helps to understand the process, and encourages them to engage with their local journalism outlets.
About half of the teens surveyed believe that journalists frequently “make up details, such as quotes” and “pay for sources.” More than a third of teens believe journalists could improve by simply “Telling the truth,” “Fact checking,” and “Not lying.” buff.ly/7vgO0ci
