I greatly enjoyed @drkatemarvel.bsky.social’s book “Human Nature” and plan to give it as a gift. But lol, the scientists in “E.T.” were trying to resuscitate him, not kill him! It scared me as a child too, but I watched it with my kids recently and gained new respect for Peter Coyote’s character

“Eagle” Ed Martin, the DOJ hatchet man who couldn’t get confirmed as U.S. Attorney for DC — even by this most craven of senates — keeps using this line for tweets. Of course the implied second line is “Don’t ‘cha know me, I am your native son.” Thus using an antiracist song as a nativist dog whistle

In an attempt to get away from the world and put current events out of mind, I went to Forest Park in Queens today… only to be greeted by this statue of Job, which commemorates the founding of Israel, and was sculpted by the artist who made the Warsaw Ghetto memorial (Natan J. Rapoport).

From the NYT “why is Trump popular with conservatives” round table. One thing I can’t help but notice is that Cruz, Hawley, Cotton, and Stefanik are, in addition to being conservatives, all assholes. It may be that they resent universities because they were treated as such at freshman orientation
