The Trump administration has reacted to a small scale lone wolf attack by in DC announcing a sweeping collective punishment, using the organs of government to heap blame on partisan rivals, and potentially dissuading anyone from collaborating with US forces abroad for a generation.

"Random acts of insurrection are occurring constantly throughout the galaxy."
At one point this morning, a guy who lives on top floor, opposite the business HSI was raiding, opened his window and just yelled “NASCAR SUCKS” at the agents below.
Big ups to that dude

There was a trick or treating event along the commercial corridor in my neighborhood with many businesses and organizations participating. It was fantastic.

What I didn't like was my council member setting up a campaign table on the front lawn of the fire station next to the MPD table.

Got a campaign mailer from a PAC today urging a vote for Frey because he is against corruption. It might have been a little more impactful if the Mayor's close friend and ally wasn't indicted today on federal embezzlement charges.

For years I've dismissed concerns about gentrification in my neighborhood but now there is a Cybertruck parked out front. Really learned my lesson with this one.

I got a Spotify ad for a crypto wallet that was endorsed by Dave Portnoy and now I am really wondering why they think I would like that.

Not knowing how to say acetaminophen shows it's pretty apparent he never took any of his kids to the doctor at least once.
Trump: "Asceda -- well, let's see how we say that. Ascenem -- enophin. Acetaminophen. Is that okay?"

the thing everyone is going to have to accept is that the post-trump period, whenever it comes, will not and cannot be a project of national unity, it must be a project of partisan project of renewal, in the same way that reconstruction and the new deal were partisan projects of renewal.

In December my employer sent out a memo several times reminding employees not to accept like a $5 bag of popcorn from a vendor and if they sent it to you in the mail, a detailed list of instructions on how to dispose of it and document it.

Dozens of federal agents rolling in with an armored truck, masked and outfitted for combat... on a hunt for boxes of evidence. This could've been done with FBI agents in windbreakers. The intent was to instigate and terrorize. It should be the mayor's first instinct to stand up against it.
My commitment to you is simple: I will fight relentlessly to defend our communities from this administration’s efforts to tear them apart. And I will counter their efforts to sow fear and chaos in Minneapolis with facts and evidence, not panic and confusion.

To "wait for the facts" is naive and dangerous. Abrego Garcia and two hundred others waited for the facts, giving the benefit of the doubt to a lawless executive, and their reward has been to spend 2025 and beyond in a Central American prison.

Our rights and lives are in peril. Use it or lose it.

I was a student at Harvard and one time my professor, Steven Pinker, kept insisting Charlie Brown had hoes. "I'm from the Twin Cities, if he had hoes, there would be statues of him and his hoes. That isn't true." He accused me of having a Franklin bias. Which is true but irrelevant.
