One year ago today, I made my first post here and set a goal to post at least one photo a day for a year. This choice has changed my life for the better in many ways.

These are fogbows, created by sunshine passing through thin fog. They are white because the water drops are too small to create a prism effect like rainbows.

This image shows a huge white fog bow (a rainbow, but white only) stretching across a distant valley to Bishop Peak, culminating at the mountain top and a cloud. The valley and mountains are bright green and the sky is bright blue, but there was enough fog in the air to produce the fogbow. Located at Los Osos valley and Bishop Peak. I'm standing on Cerro San Luis Obispo in San Luis Obispo, California. Another fogbow, but this one is smaller and has formed over an open field of dry, brown grass. In order to see a fogbow, you must have your back to the sun while the sun is shining through thin fog. It will appear in the form of an arch. My shadow is in the center under the fogbow. There is fog hovering over the field and hills in the distance, while the sky above is blue. This is in Laguna Lake Open Space in San Luis Obispo, California.
