Like everything AI does, this is a solution to a problem that's already been solved. Lots of games have NPC party members. What's the point of giving you an AI one that beats the game for you?
I decided to read the full patent and this is substantially funnier than I expected - they want to generate the AI "helper" from footage of other people playing the game, including, they specifically note, footage scraped from social media and youtube
