*"girls" here used for trope recognition, characters of any gender can play here!

GOOD MORNING, FRIENDS!

We have a whistle printer who is almost out of filament! If you've been waiting for your chance, one spool can turn into ~500 whistles!!!

The best birthday present I can imagine would be for you to check out these amazing stories I discovered in 2025, including lots that are from authors completely new to me, and to consider them for any awards ballots you might be working on!!
2025 was a nightmare... & an amazing year for short fiction.

On my newsletter, I rounded up the stories I think you need - for your soul, & your award ballots

(mine are there, but it's mostly from others)

I'll shout them out here, as well!

Context: this speech is from SIR THOMAS MORE, a history written, as near as scholars can tell, in the early 1600s by 6 or 7 people including Dekker, Heywood, Chettle, Shakespeare, and Munday.

It was never performed, because Jacobean England was a police state and it was banned by the censor.

Absolutely wild story happening in Toronto this morning. Organized crime in the towtruck industry is not news, but nine police officers with some of the charges reportedly related to a conspiracy to murder a colleague, and leaking addresses to hitmen. Yikes.

Hideous licensing agreement from Red Ogre Review, but what really jumps out at me is the moral rights waiver
Red Ogre (@ogre.red) gets rights to your work upon *submission*.

And those rights are ridiculous. They can change your work, not credit you, use your work for advertising, or put it in an anthology.

Don't submit to this one, folks.
